I'm noticing that none of the movies I had RipIt auto compress for
AppleTV 1 are able to be opened with Quicktime Player in Lion 10.7.
Other movies that are .m4v that were manually ripped from Handbrake
open fine.
I get this error: The document “Ratatouille.m4v” could not be opened.
A required codec isn't available.
What's weird is that they do open with the old Quicktime 7.
Any thoughts?

Time will tell…but one possibility is that they deliberately added new "features" along the way to control content. I see that Verizon is doing that now to Android phones to control data and prevent tethering. It would be great to hear from TLAF here. Stan
