Happy launch day all! I just got my ps5 set up and got to the part where I was asked if I wanted to transfer my ps4 data to my ps5, I would like to do this but to do so I need to hold down the power button on my ps4, problem is my power button has been unclickable for awhile now. I never took it apart and everything I see online suggest I do so. Is there a way to do a transfer without pushing the power button? Or a way to fix the power button without taking the whole console apart?

This process has two parts. You start with performing a manual factory reset by using the TV buttons, allowing you to access the settings menu to perform a second factory data reset with your remote.

I just received a brand new CC2650STK sensortag today (BLE REV 1.5.1, FW rev 1.4.2). Upon removing the battery plastic i was able to see the tag in the android Sensortag app and view the sensor data. I tried to view the data again a few minutes later but the tag was no longer showing up in the app. I tried the power button but nothing happened, so i removed the CR2032 battery and put it back in, and was able to see the tag. Why does it not wake up from the power button?

* All battery life claims are approximate and based on a standard mixed use profile. The mixed use profile is based on Motorola devices on major 4G LTE networks with excellent coverage and includes both usage and standby time. Out-of- box settings are applied to the mixed use profile to project battery performance. Actual battery performance will vary and depends on many factors including signal strength, network configuration, age of battery, operating temperature, features selected, device settings, and voice, data, and other application usage patterns.

You should not power down any computer -- physical or virtual -- with the power button unless absolutely necessary; operating systems need to be shut down cleanly and follow specific steps during the shutdown process to avoid data corruption.

The power button on our servers deals AFAIK only with shutting down the hardware; there is no communication iwth the XenServer/Citrix Hypervisor OS, which is why the power button is not a good idea to use on probably most servers since there s no tie-in between the button and the OS running on that hardware. In your case, the power button does nothing at all?

My server stopped working and I sent it to IBM Service. After a few hours they told me I could backup my data. When I asked how they managed to turn it on, they said that it works while the power button is pressed.

1.5. Could they be wrong? Should I try look for a solution inside something else, maybe change RAM, change power supplies, add non integrated Video Card, disconnect RAID controller, or something else?

Is there other way to repair this beside replacement with new motherboard?
Possibly - It depends on whether the problem is the motherboard or the daughterboard the power button is on. I defer to the IBM Support Team's diagnosis on this matter.

Before I touched it, I quickly checked online and read that it should be OK to go ahead and power it off. I tapped the power button and it immediately shut off. I waited a few seconds, turned it back on.

Soft Reset - In the unlikely event that your device becomes unresponsive, frozen, blank or black screen, or will not respond to the power button, you can perform a force restart on the device by following the steps below.

Additional Information:

  • Save data, screenshots and videos, and user information will not be deleted. However, all software saved on the microSD card (except for screenshots and videos) will be unusable.
  • This method should only be used if you are planning to keep your console. If you will no longer have access to the console (for example, if you are selling it or giving it to someone), use the full restore factory settings process to remove all of your save data and user information.

Hello, colleagues. There is an old hp server that is used as a network storage. About a month ago I noticed that he was in standby mode (the yellow indicator of the on button), although the bios mode is always on, I tried to turn it on from the button and through the ilo, but there was no reaction. After long checks of the power supply and the power backplane board, it turned out that they are serviceable (maybe). Then I started removing all pci devices, left 2 processors and 2 RAM sticks, everything is the same (there are standby voltages and 3 V on the power button), green indicators on the motherboard behaved the same as in stanby mode, but there was no reaction to the on command. It turned out that after removing the cmos battery, after powering the power supply, the motherboard immediately automatically starts and works as if nothing had happened, but after a few days the same symptoms.

A couple of weeks later, even after resetting, the cmos did not always start, sometimes there was a black screen, sometimes a red diode on helth led, could be in standby again after the first reboot.
What I tried: changed the bios to backup, reset nvram, changed the power supply, checked the cmos battery (3.01v), checked the voltage drop on the data+/- lines, the power button wires, there is no result, it just seems that every time the motherboard is harder to start. (Bios and ilo version is the latest). I searched the forums and found only one similar case with a solution, the solution was: replacing the motherboard.
Perhaps someone has encountered this, because my hands have already dropped. I don't even know about what the problem is.

I attempted to locate the powerbtn.sh script discussed in other threads. This file is known to live in /etc/acpi/something-else... but I have no /etc/acpi directory. I attempted to find this script, but that yielded no results.

Anyhow, I just recently changed over from using the Xmonad window manager to the i3 window manager (great switch btw, i3 is awesome!). As I was configuring i3, it crossed my mind to check and see if the power key would behave the same way as it had under Xfce/Xmonad. I pressed it and, nothing!

After letting out an emotionally charged cry of victory over this nuisance, I immediately started xev and discovered that (at least on this model chromebook) the power key is registered to keycode 124. I then altered my /.Xmodmap file to include the line:

A power cycle does not delete any information and is a safe way to troubleshoot minor issues when you can't use your remote control. Unplugging your TV without shutting it down will not damage the television.

BEFORE YOU START: Once you complete the reset, you will have to go through the initial setup again, similarly to when you first activated the TV. A factory data reset removes all custom settings in the TV, including Google account settings, apps, channels, and wireless network settings.

If you can't access the TV Settings menu using the remote control, please try a manual (forced) Factory Data Reset using the buttons on the TV. This reset type returns the TV to its original out-of-the-box settings and can solve more persistent issues (e.g., TV restarting by itself).

This process has two parts. You start with performing a manual factory reset by using the TV buttons, which will allow you to access the settings menu to perform a second factory data reset with your remote.

With buttons in Power BI, you can create reports that behave similarly to apps, and create an environment where users can hover, click, and further interact with Power BI content. This article explains how to add buttons to reports in Power BI Desktop and in the Power BI service. When you share your reports in the Power BI service, buttons provide an app-like experience. The article Identify and use buttons in the Power BI service describes how report readers experience buttons in your reports.

Creating a button requires edit permissions to the report. Sharing a report requires a Power BI Pro or PPU license or for the report to be saved in Premium capacity. For more information, see Which license do I have and What is Premium.

In the Power BI service, open the report in Editing view. Select Buttons in the top menu bar to reveal a drop-down menu, where you can select the button you want from a collection of options.

Whether you create a button in Power BI Desktop or the Power BI service, the rest of the process is the same. When you select a button on the report canvas, the Format pane shows you the many ways you can customize the button to fit your requirements. For example, you can customize the shape of a button.

Power BI buttons support fill images. With fill images, you can customize the look and feel of your button, combined with the built-in button states: default, on hover, on press, and disabled (for drillthrough).

I need a complete batch file, (you can send the lines, I can create the file if that is better) that will make the computer do nothing (you know, like under power options on control panel) whenever the power button is pushed. I can only assume this will be easy for you guys, but i am more or less a beginner.

I can only see one use for this and that would be a type of kiosk device, if this is true you need to encase the unit so it's not accessible, pushing the power button does what the power button does

ok quick edit: we at the company don't have time to move every single box away and hiding, and unfortunately our admin accounts seem to be somehow broken, not exactly sure (looking elsewhere for a solution). Our problem is that we need to change power settings like you would a personal laptop, because some employees sometimes push some desk items around and somehow the power button gets pressed shutting down the computer, and causing a loss of data. We are nice people, and we want to help our employees, not hurt them or change their ways.
