Dear all,

Following to our communication earlier,  we have started thinking on possibility of running a virtual consultation supported with an e-survey on 'Youth Perspectives on Rio+20'. Details will be shared in coming weeks. I look forward to partner with some of you who are interested to discover real youth contexts in this higher level debate on Rio+20. Our previous experience in running virtual consultation/e-discussions was quite positive.

In recent past we had oprganised three such discussions; focused on the HKH (April 2011, 200 contributions, 296 participants), on South and Central Asia (May 2011, 550 participants, 400 contributions), and on Southeast Asia (June 2011, more than 160 participants), which were warmly welcomed by SMD communities across the region with an exceptionally high number of participants and extremely valuable contributions.

Similarly very recently concluded 'Youth Forum on Climate Actions and Mountain Issues', 8-12 August 2011 (http://www.icimod.org/apyf2011) have have broken the ground of this debate adopting the (1) Asia Pacific Youth Declaration on Climate Change and Sustainable Development (http://www.icimod.org/v2/bull3/index.php/cms2/ajax/resource/download?id=4127) and the (2) Asia Pacific Youth Position paper on Rio+20 (http://www.icimod.org/v2/bull3/index.php/cms2/ajax/resource/download?id=4128) .

Let's work together to refine our knowledge in coming days!

Best,
Tek
