'Youth perspectives on promoting Green Economy in Asia Pacific mountains: Options and opportunities'

 

Dear Friends,

 

I want to bring the following session at the "Planet under Pressure 2012" conference in March 2012 in London to your attention. Please submit abstracts by 16 September 2011 with special reference to this session (#0417).

 

The International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) through its Asia Pacific Mountain Network (APMN) and in partnership with number of regional and national organisations will be hosting a special session on Youth perspectives on promoting Green Economy in Asia Pacific mountains: Options and opportunities. The overall objective of this special session is to know the ground realities and assess challenges, options and opportunities to promote Green Economy in the Asia Pacific mountainous countries and areas with strong involvement of youth.

 

We are particularly interested to know:

·         What are the existing approaches that can be upscaled, replicated and/or commercialized to expand Green Economy?

·         Are there any cases where Youth led Green Business are doing really well?

·         Are there any large scale income generating activities through goods and services coming from uplands (mountain areas)?

·         Scope of the paper can be Asia Pacific regional, sub-regional or national
