Hey folks... a few quick updates.

Below there's info from the #GGJ13 mothership about speakers and video. It's going to be great.

I also want to remind you to sign up for the event and share with friends, colleagues and others you know. Spreading the word about events like these really does help make our local game development community a little more real and connected.  Find the main Game Jam event at: http://www.meetup.com/RG-IGDA-Meetup-Group/

You'll also find a pre-Jam workshop on Unity 3D (and info session) there as well. We're delighted to have Sean McCracken share some of his Unity skills this Saturday at the Flying Star in Corrales (just inches from ABQ West Side and down the hill from Rio Rancho). In order to make that make sense, we need at least 2-3 more developers in the room - so if you've been wanting to try Unity or advance your skills, here's a great chance (I'm sure the next one will actually cost $$).

Totally hate Meetup and/or you're working (or have colleagues) in Las Cruces? Sign up with Facebook at: https://www.facebook.com/events/126331787532054/

Don't have the time or energy for the whole Game Jam experience, we can still use your help. If you're an experienced programmer, developer, designer or entrepreneur who knows how to ship and deliver, we're looking for mentors to visit on Saturday (please talk to me) and a group to review games on Sunday.

And... a quick heads up. If you're a pro developer (you've released at least one game or app on a recognized platform), the RG-IGDA, NM Tech Council, NM Film Office and ABQ Film Office are putting together a workshop to walk through the process for incentives. We'll release details at the Jam!

Global Game Jam Inc.
™ today announced an incredible line-up of speakers for this year’s keynote. The Global Game Jam™ annually presents cutting edge speakers and this year’s line-up promises to keep with that tradition. On board to motivate this year’s jammers are Erin Robinson, award winning indie game designer and Bret Victor, inventor & designer of experimental UI concepts at Apple.

The video keynotes are being translated into more than 15 languages to be shown in over 300 locations in 63 countries around the world. The keynotes go live in every location at 5pm January 25th, shortly thereafter the package will be posted to the Global Game Jam YouTube Channel:http://www.youtube.com/user/globalgamejam If you go to the channel now, you can see the GGJ teaser trailer which was created by Adam Barenblat & Amanda Ligman from Cause and FX - A Creative Workshop.
