In the film industry, unsimulated sex is the presentation of sex scenes in which actors genuinely perform the depicted sex acts, rather than simulating them. Although it is ubiquitous in films intended as pornographic, it is very uncommon in other films.[1][2] At one time in the United States, such scenes were restricted by law and self-imposed industry standards such as the Motion Picture Production Code.[3] Films showing explicit sexual activity were confined to privately distributed underground films, such as stag films or "porn loops". In the 1960s, social attitudes about sex began to shift, and sexually explicit films were decriminalized in many countries.[4]
With movies such as Blue Movie by Andy Warhol, mainstream movies began pushing the boundaries of what was presented on screen.[5] Notable examples include two of the eight Bedside-films and the six Zodiac-films from the 1970s, all of which were produced in Denmark and had many pornographic sex scenes, but were nevertheless considered mainstream films, all having mainstream casts and crews, and premiering in mainstream cinemas.[6] The last of these films, Agent 69 Jensen i Skyttens tegn, was made in 1978. From the end of the 1970s until the late 1990s it was rare to see hardcore scenes in mainstream cinema, but this changed with the success of Lars von Trier's The Idiots (1998), which heralded a wave of art-house films with explicit content,[7][8] such as Romance (1999), Baise-moi (2000), Intimacy (2001), Vincent Gallo's The Brown Bunny (2003), and Michael Winterbottom's 9 Songs (2004). Some simulated sex scenes are sufficiently realistic that critics mistakenly believe that they are real, such as the cunnilingus scene in the 2006 film Red Road.[9]
Prior to the advent of home video, a number of hardcore pornography films were released to mainstream cinemas. In most cases, scenes of penetration were either cut out or replaced with alternate shots.[citation needed] One exception to this was Deep Throat, which was released uncensored.[citation needed]
The following mainstream films have scenes with verified real sexual activity, meaning actors or actresses are filmed engaging in actual coitus or performing related sexual acts such as fellatio and cunnilingus. This list does not include documentaries about pornography, which may contain unsimulated sexual activity.
PRIDE first began this journey back when the series was a little more frivolously sexy and a little less viscerally emotional, but even when it took that turn we knew we must stay the course and complete our comprehensive ranking of every sex scene that graced our Netflix accounts over the years.

Sure, we come close to seeing more than heavy petting with Vauseman, Nichols and Morello, Nichols and some other girl, and hell, even Caputo and Fig, but world - this is what we get. So if you were waiting for sex scenes in Season 5 (perhaps to rank them for this article) this is what you were given to work with. And no, we're not including Leanne and the (literal) fingerbang, are you kidding? Hell no.
Turn on: In the context of the show, this is pretty much just one glorious frame after another. The hair pulling, the camera angles, the trash bag - this scene gave us its all and we love every second.
Turn on: Nearly everything. After the scissoring fails (though completely adorably) Poussey shares some wise words of passionate love before trying something much more successful on her giggling and super lucky girlfriend. Never has a scene been so sexy AND precious.

Finally. FINALLY. Fourty-three minutes into the seventh episode, we get a sex scene. Kate and Anthony run into each other after nightfall on the grounds of the Bridgerton manse. They meet under a bower of hanging vines and thick clusters of flowers, surrounded by Roman statues, lit candles, and cushioned settees, which is still not good enough reason to have sex outside feet away from your sleeping family. They scream at each other for a while, and then Anthony delivers a passion-drenched monologue about his violent, unwanted desire for Kate. This is very good. He sniffs her neck in a move that seems to be lifted directly from the Edward Cullen seduction playbook.
This is not a sex scene, but it is a surprisingly wild first kiss, considering that its price turns out to be: Get married against your will, or her life will be ruined and he will be shot. Nevertheless, we see: hand on butt! Hand on side boob! Petticoats hoisted up to the mid-shin area! Then we have makeoutus interruptus, thanks to another family member. Weird choice to bring the family into a sexual moment again, but okay!
The now-iconic scene was actually a suggestion from the actors involved. Gage told the AV Club that their characters were originally supposed to be caught having sex, but then he and Bartlett thought it would be more riveting to switch things up.
