Dear Garden Nerds,
Please accept this apology for e-mail that I sent out earlier today. It was not my intention that the e-mail would be broadcast to the entire group. It has been brought to my attention that the June 13 "must plant" date was included in a list of rules that I had signed previously. As to that, I stand corrected.
The e-mail that I sent was not intended to diminish the accomplishments of this group in bringing this garden project to reality. Those of you who have worked so hard are to be congratulated for what you have accomplished.
It has been pointed out to me that the rule-making process of this group is still evolving. The group should resist the temptation to bask in the glow of your accomplishments. The end does not justify the means. Process is important. I stand by my earlier statements that this group's priority should be
inclusive rather than
exclusive. I believe that elected official are the servants of their constituents and that they should always conduct themselves accordingly. In a situation where the rule making process is ambiguous, the members of the steering committee needs to be sensitive to avoid the appearance of being heavy handed.
In closing, I apologize for contributing to any divisiveness that may have existed in this group. My e-mail was solely intended for the consumption of one person. I wish the Rio Nido Gardeners well.
