Naval STEM: The 2024 Naval Horizons STEM essay contest is now live! Naval Horizons is a STEM essay contest introducing students to cutting-edge STEM topics impacting the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps through an engaging video series. The STEM topics in the video series include space weather, aerospace optometry, epidemiology, machine learning and more! Up to 5,000 winners will be selected and receive a $200 cash prize.

 

June 10, 2024

Essay contest submission form closes at 11:59 p.m. ET.

 

July 15, 2024

Naval Horizons Highest Honors winners announced at 11:59 p.m. ET.

This essay contest is open to United States (U.S.) citizens who are:

  • Students in grades 9 – 12 and attending public, private, or home school in the U.S. (including U.S. territories or possessions and schools operated by the U.S. for the children of American personnel overseas).
  • Students currently enrolled at an accredited U.S. college or university, e.g. community college students, undergraduate students, graduate students.

A parent or adult caregiver must submit entries from students under the age of 18.


Individual students may only submit one essay.
