Okay so I recently found my Sound Blaster Audigy SE by Creative. I plugged it into my computer and at first I thought it was a plug-in-play. I plugged my speakers in and found that the sound card is not detected by windows 7. I checked Device Manager and found that a multimedia driver was missing. So I went to the Creative website to download the latest drivers. When I tried to download the driver it said that my card was not installed and I did not have a product from creative. (Paraphrased) So I looked online and found that many people had success by manually installing the drivers by loading in the P17.inf file from the actual drivers. But when I did finally download the driver into my computer... my speakers made a very loud constant buzzing noise and when I tried to reboot my computer I couldn't and I had to use system restore. Can anyone help me out with this frustrating problem?
When I install the official drivers from the creative website I get different results in the device manager. It says that the card is a SB Recon3d card, also a sound blaster audio controller. here is an image of the device managerin its current state.
Received my new HP desktop and everything works fine. I then installed my Sound Blaster Audigy FX sound card and the drivers. Sound is very distorted and or non existent. Says drivers are the latest. Anyone have any ideas on what is going on. Sound card worked great in my old windows 10 computer. Checked on Sound Blasters website and it is compatible with windows 11.
