Rememberthe BlackBerry 9980, also known as BlackBerry Knight? This mystery 'Berry popped up in a handful of leaked photos and hands-on videos at the beginning of September and was described as a Bold 9900 in a Porsche-designed body. At time time there was a lot of back and forth about whether or not the Knight was the real deal, but now it appears that the handset is indeed legit and will soon be making its official debut at 1,350 feet above ground. BlackBerry and Porsche Design have sent out invitations to an event taking place on October 27th at a restaurant in the Burj Khalifa in Dubai named At.Mosphere, which just so happens to hold the Guinness World Record for "Highest Restaurant From Ground Level." The two companies will use the shindig to show off "an exclusive collaboration between Porsche Design and BlackBerry."
Considering the venue that this event is being held in and the fact that Porsche Design is selling a mechanical pencil for around $269, it's probably safe to assume that we won't be seeing the BlackBerry Knight hit U.S. carrier shelves. Of course, if "smart elegant or National Dress" describes something you might wear on a random Thursday, then it's likely that getting a carrier subsidy on a smartphone isn't something that you're concerned with. Now that the BlackBerry 9980/Knight is all but official, would any of you consider snapping one up if you had the chance?

The idea is to create thin, flat shards of butter that range from about the size of a dime to about the size of a quarter. Long flat pieces of butter in the crust = big flakes in the finished pie. If at any time the butter seems very soft or warm, briefly refrigerate the bowl.
Press the dough into one mass, then split it in half, form each half into a disc, and wrap each disc in plastic wrap. Chill the dough for at least 2 hours before using, or overnight. I prefer an overnight rest if possible.
To assemble the pie - On a lightly floured surface, roll one piece of the dough into a roughly 12" circle just under 1/4" thick. Use a pie plate as a template to trim the edges to a nice even circle, then transfer the dough to a 9" pie pan, making sure to tuck it into the corners of the pan.
Roll the second piece of dough into a roughly 12" circle just under 1/4" thick. Place the circle atop the filling, trim the edges so they're even, then fold and crimp the dough together. Refrigerate or freeze the pie until the crust is very firm.
Put the pie on a parchment-lined baking sheet to catch any drips and bake for 50 to 60 minutes, or until the crust is deep golden brown and the blackberry juices bubble. If the crust seems to be darkening too fast, tent it with aluminum foil.
I agree with Mark, the curve is my absolute favorite phone. We use verizon here and unfortunaly I ordered mine (8830 world edition) like two weeks before they got a curve. Honestly blackberry wth am i supposed to do with one of these 2.5mm headphone jacks! =P
Personally I value simplicity. Touch phones have the cool geek factor (used an HTC for a while) but lack a good feel when dialing numbers. Mobile 6 has severe flaws in the form of voice recognition not being built in, you have to buy voice commander which wouldnt be bad if it worked on the phones (3 months ago when I used my HTC it was incompatable) meaning you have to train your phone for all your hundreds of contacts. This is dissapointing because the Razor handles this natively.
There are iPhone remote desktop clients. I can access a proxy server that I use for traffic monitoring on another client network. I got a call because their internet was running slowly. I logged into the proxy, took a look and found someone bittorrenting in the office, called the client back, and fixed the problem. Did I mention I was playing frisbee golf?
But back on topic, Sit down and make a list of what you need a phone to do for your job, when that is layed out, check your options. Dont shop for a phone not knowing what functions you need or you will just end up with a bunch of features you dont use but thought you would.
i have the htc mogul with WM 6 v5.2.1629 i get about 2 days of batt with the latest update. i personally like the fact that i can do just about anything i need to as an It guy with it, besides wathcing flash video and it having a pretty interface. i guess the real question is do you want to play (iphone) or have a useful tool. oh and if you jail break an i phone you missed out on the latest update witch makes it a lot nicer.
