Hello everyone, esteemed colleagues,

I am attaching a link that I received from another Spanish colleague, in
case it might be useful to facilitate research and work with Ring and
its ecosystem.

I take this opportunity to say that I have not abandoned my
Spanish-language videos about Ring: I am finishing some important tasks
to better organize myself and continue with my contributions. However, I
read you all daily with great interest.

Best regards,
Antonio F.S.

Hello Antonio,

Thank you very much for sharing this...

I'm confident Ring will have its word to say in everything AI, ML and data analytics domains, like the application development domain that it has initially been designed for.

  • Mahmoud has already designed Ring to be flexible, extensible and natural-oriented. NaturalLib is still years ahead of any other programming language on earth! The TinyC solution, when completed, will be more than a revolution, it will make Ring code as powerful as C code, which is a must in AI and other heavy domains.
  • Bert and Mahmoud made a foundational work in developing the matrix-based RingFastPro extension.
  • Youssaf added many useful (and compulsory) libraries AI and ML require.
  • Azzeddine developed the first educational library for programming neural networks in Ring.
  • Softanza is building the foundations for an opinionated vision of transforming all this to a natural-oriented, practical experience, we can easily program AI stuff, use it in our creative work, and propose to our customers.
Those small steps, while not planned in a central or synchronised way, show a strong will of the Ring team to position Ring, as a nice and reliable tool, also in the era.

All the best,
Mansour

I was just about to try downloading your desktop application, but after seeing its large file size, I canceled it. I suspect that you are using Electron.js, which is known for having a very large application size. Are you using Electron for the desktop app? Why not try building it with RING instead? I could be mistaken.

Hello Riko,

link provided in this topic is a third party application not related to the Ring programming language.

Under the hood, it utilizes several core libraries and frameworks to manage its data processing, storage, and orchestration:
  • Runtime Environment: The backend operations are primarily powered by a Node.js environment.
  • Vector Database: It uses LanceDB as its default, built-in vector database for storing and querying document embeddings privately. It also supports external integrations with libraries like ChromaPineconeWeaviateQdrant, and Milvus.
  • Database Management: Metadata and file storage are handled by PostgreSQL or SQLite.
  • Orchestration & Deployment: For containerized environments, Docker is the primary delivery mechanism, ensuring consistent deployment across different operating systems.
  • AI Models & Frameworks:
    • Embeddings: It supports Hugging Face models and GGUF embedding models for turning text into vectors.
    • LLM Integration: It integrates with local model runners such as OllamaLM Studio, and LocalAI, as well as cloud APIs from OpenAI and Anthropic.
    • Transcription: Audio-to-text functionality is powered by the Whisper model.
    • Experimental Features: Advanced capabilities, such as "Computer Use," are built using specific implementations like Anthropic's Computer Use API
Greetings,
Ilir
