Hello,

I just wanted to point out that the Ring ecosystem would benefit from some PR 😅

For instance, the only videos I can find on YouTube are either in Arabic, very old (and potentially outdated), voiced with a text-to-speech application..
Usually things that would deter someone from giving Ring a go, and that's regrettable.

I've also seen that the docs claim the language to be usable on micro-controllers, yet the only example provided (and supported) is a Raspberry Pico.. When I think of uCs, what comes to mind are much smaller targets which requirements I assume are not even sufficient for the VM alone.

Not to be dismissive of your work, just saying...

Hello

Thanks for sharing your ideas :D

As open-source contributor, What I care about is developing a useful programming language that I need in my projects and enjoy my time using it and sharing my work so it could be useful for others, that is it, nothing more. I don't care about how many people are using it (while of course it's a pleasure to see more people using Ring or writing Ring code), also, I don't care if someone don't like the language, I designed it for me. So, I did it & shared it to help myself & help others, but without the pressure of marketing that companies could suffer from because if no one buy their products, they can't stay in the business.

With respect to spreading the word, I do it using my way
(1) Continuous development of the Ring language, each new release is a message that says (Ring is here to stay and becomes more better along the time)
(2) Good documentation (If you want to learn Ring, we tried to help you in your way)
(3) Answering questions in Ring Group (You will not be alone if you faced a problem, we would try to help you by sharing our knowledge)
(4) Writing research papers (We care about science, and provide resources for people interested in scientific research related to programming languages & development tools)
(5) Sharing my knowledge and experience from using the language (Even if I designed Ring, I still learn more about it from using the language everyday)
(6) I write about it in my Facebook page, to my followers (56,000) and people who are interested in my projects

Then I stop & don't try to do more, for a good reason: to focus on improving the language, I decided this from Sept. 2013 and before releasing Ring in 2016, I will develop this language even if I am the only programmer who is using it.

You’re absolutely right that the Ring ecosystem could benefit from more visibility and updated learning material. Expanding the presence on YouTube and other platforms is definitely something we want to encourage. So, other contributors, are encouraged to contribute to marketing (if they like to do that & have the time).

Yes, it's just evidence, was useful for scientific publications. Interested contributors could study it and develop what they need.

Greetings,
Mahmoud
