Hello.
I'm new to this forum and to the Ring programming language. I need to establish communication between scales via serial port.
Thank you for your attention.

Hello

Try this sample and see if it works for you:
ring/samples/UsingQt/SerialPort at master · ring-lang/ring
If it's not working, or you need different features, You can always extend Ring with C/C++ code
Documentation:
Tutorial: Ring Extensions in C/C++ — Ring 1.25.0 documentation
Extension using the C/C++ languages — Ring 1.25.0 documentation
Code Generator for wrapping C/C++ Libraries — Ring 1.25.0 documentation
Create your first extension — Ring 1.25.0 documentation
Note: According to my tests, Tools like Claude Code (Opus 4.6) could help in writing Ring extensions, just write a good prompt and provide the documentation links in this topic.
Greetings,
Mahmoud
