Hello everyone,

I'm excited to release Ring LibSQL, a new extension providing libSQL bindings for Ring.

It is a comprehensive client that is fully compatible with SQLite and is designed to work seamlessly with Turso databases.

Key features:
* Full SQLite compatibility (Local files or :memory:).
* Remote connection to Turso or self-hosted LibSQL servers.
* Embedded replicas for offline-first apps with automatic syncing.

Install:

ringpm install ring-libsql from ysdragon

Source Code & Docs:
https://github.com/ysdragon/ring-libsql

I hope you find it useful!

Best regards,
Youssef

Hello to all my colleagues at Ring.

Lately, for various reasons, I've been quite busy on a daily basis and haven't been able to devote as much time as I'd like to my course videos. However, I do read your posts every day.

Congratulations and my thanks to those of you who are expanding the Ring ecosystem.

A warm hug to all.

Antonio F.S.

Hello Youssef,

I tested the samples in the UsingLibSQL folder and they all work as expected.
Online Turso database feels easy to work with...

Did you experiment with some of your apps?
And what about their free tier, is it worth considering for our small and middle-sized web apps?

All the best,
Mansour

Hello Mansour,

Thank you for testing the samples!

I haven't implemented it in my own full applications just yet, so I highly recommend performing your own testing before deploying it into a production environment.

Regarding the free tier, it is definitely a strong option for small and mid-sized apps. The limits are quite generous: 5 GB of storage, 500 million row reads/month, and 10 million row writes/month.

If you ever find yourself outgrowing those limits, remember that you also have the option to self-host the LibSQL server.

Best regards,
Youssef
