Addinga PPA supposed to contain drivers for this printer. According to various sources (including -
fr.org/tutoriel/ppa_canon), either ppa:thierry-f/fork-michael-gruz or ppa:michael-gruz/canon-trunk or ppa:michael-gruz/canon-trunk should have it, but it seems to not be the case anymore.
Finding the drivers on the various Canon websites (Europe, USA, Asia, canondrivers, etc.) On most of them, I did not find anything for Linux. On Canon Asia, I found a driver for 32-bits RPM-based Linux systems. Conversions with alien, as suggested by some tutorials have proven useless on my 64-bits system.
All of a sudden whenever I try to print something I am getting an error message indicating that the printer is missing a file (in order to print). I have looked on the back of the printer, on the back of the ink cartridge door, on the top of the printer and I can't find the model number anywhere. The printer is a Pixma TS3300 printer, but when I tried to get to drivers and software to try to download the files, there are two Pixma TS3300 shown, and I don't know which one to go to.
Danny, thanks for the information, but I need to find the Model Number. There are two model numbers shown for the TX3300 and I need to know what model number is so that I can download the drivers/software that my printer needs to work well again.
John, thanks for your reply. Please see above. I am apparently looking in the wrong place for the driver and software download for my printer. From what I found the Pixma TS330 has two options: TS3320 and TS3322
Happy New Year. If you search for TS3320 support it shows a black printer and the driver is TS3300 series. The TS3322 model comes up as white color with same driver. Typically the last two digits designate specific model features or specific markets.
John, thanks again. I will try to download the drivers for the TS3320. Do I just download the driver and do nothing else letting the computer do what needs to be done or do I need to do anything else?
John, I tried downloading the drivers but the download seemed to freeze as the MP drivers were being downloaded. The process bar got to about one centimeter to the end and went no further. The download screen indicated that the process should have taken approximately 2 minutes but after about 20 minutes I stopped it.
I have just got a new macbook pro retina 2015, model MF840 for a week. And in all of the week, i tried to find the way to connect to the printer canon 3300 at my company but i cant. At my company, we have the desktop runs windows 7, is the server of the shared canon 3300, then i download driver for mac on the internet, version 3.67, my mac os is 10.10.2, install it. Then i find the printer in workgroup, add the canon 3300, successfully, but when i print a test page, the printer does nothing. I tried to find many solutions on the internet, such as: set password for the server when connect, install net pot driver...but i cant solve it.
When you downloaded the software off the internet it might of been the wrong software. Does your work have the orginal CD? I would call cannon tech support becasuse they could help you with the software and helping get it connected. When I got a new printer it did not work on my printer and I called tech support and they helped me for free.......
I think the driver is not wrong, because i download on the canon website, and i also check it again when i read your reply. I am thinking about my mac os is 64bit. And the desktop run windows 32bit, they are not compatible and not support to print over wifi? it is difficult to find out the reason.
Moreover, i asked some technician in my country, but they cant solve, because they are almost the windows technician, not mac technician. In my country (Vietnam), it is quite difficult to find the technician about Mac os.
I see that could be it that they are different computers becuase I know that macs do print over wifi on most all wifi printers.... Let me look on the website myself and I will send you the link that you could try if you have not already.
Oh very sorry...I didnt tell exactly about my printer, it is canon LBP3300, not ImageRunner 3300 like your post. I searched on your website to find the driver for LBP3300 but see nothing, can i do anything else ?
Printer Driver File, Double-click the files to decompress them. A new folder will be created in the same folder. The new folder will have the same name as the compressed file. Double-click the decompressed Setup.exe file to start installation.
If the driver listed is not the right version or operating system, search our driver archive for the correct version. Enter Canon LBP3300 into the search box above and then submit. In the results, choose the best match for your PC and operating system.
My Canon LBP3300 network printer has been working well for a couple of years and survived Fedora upgrades along the way. Some time in the last few days, it has stopped printing. I would like some help working out what went wrong and how to fix it.
I also removed the printer from ccpd and cupsd and re-initialised them using port 59687 instead of 59787 (as this had been suggested a couple of years ago when I was first installing the printer driver).
I also noticed that CUPS is saying that printer drivers are deprecated and will be removed in the next feature release. So I phoned Canon here in Aus, and they do not provide any support for linux. Nor do they have any IPP or Postscript laser printers. Not looking good.
If you are using this driver in a 64-bit environment, and update a version 2.20 driver to version 2.30 or later, errors may occur when printing.
This problem can be solved by uninstalling (rpm -e [driver]) then re-installing (rpm -i [driver]) the new driver.
The 5 minute timeout during shutdown continues, but I just run a script to stop the ccpd daemon before shutown or restart and the process has returned to normal, albeit with an extra step before shutting down.
I understand that you are having issue with your LBP3300. Please be advised that we do not have an ETA for the updated driver and software compatible with Linux. Also, we are not capable of supporting Linux computer. I would suggest to contact Linux support regarding the issue that you encounter.
