Ifyou have trouble signing into your New Surface Pro, there could be a few different reasons for that-----like you can't remember your password as time goes by, your password was hacked, or someone changed your password but didn't inform you. In this situation, knowing more about password resetting and recovery methods can help you get out of trouble easily. This article describes 6 ways to reset New Surface Pro password when failed to login.

If you use a Microsoft account to login to New Surface Pro, but the password you input is incorrect, you can now reset your password and PIN straight from the lock screen after verifying your account identity. More details see: How to Reset Windows 10 Microsoft Account Password from Login Screen.

If you have previously created a password reset disk, you can easily set a new password for signing in to your New Surface Pro. At the Surface login screen, click the "Reset password" link, it often appears just below the password field after a failed log-on attempt. Windows 10 will start the Password Reset wizard as shown. Insert your password reset disk and then click on Next. Follow On-screen to reset local password.

If you are unable to reset login password for a Microsoft account online, you do not have a password reset disk for local account, and there are no other accounts in Windows with administrator rights, a professional Windows password refixer tool is your wise choice, no data loss will occur when you need to regain access to your Surface. Use the following steps to remove or reset password of any Windows account.

Download and install Windows Password Refixer into any available device. Insert a USB flash drive, select your USB drive, then click Begin burning to create a password reset disk.

After Surface booting up from the USB drive, Windows Password Refixer will access your system and display all user accounts on the screen. Select one of user names, then click Reset Password button.

After done, click Reboot and unplug the USB drive, your Surface tablet will restart. When Windows system boots, you can access to your Surface with the default password it provided if you use a Microsoft account.

This option takes your New Surface Pro to an earlier restore point includes an old password that you do remember. Restoring won't affect your personal files, but it will remove apps, drivers, and updates installed after the restore point was made. Here is how:

Turn on your Surface tablet. In Windows login screen, select the Power icon in the lower right, hold down the Shift key on your keyboard and click the Restart option.

If your password is not working, as a last resort, you can Reset your PC. Resetting the Surface will remove all apps and drivers you may have installed and removed all password how have set. So that you can login the tablet without password. See: How to factory reset Surface to without password.

The Surface Hub can automatically change a device account's password without requiring you to manually update it. You can enable this feature in Settings > Surface Hub > Accounts. If you turn on Password Rotation, the Surface Hub attempts to change the password every 7 days during maintenance hours. Passwords don't change during a meeting. If 7 days have passed since the last password rotation, but the Surface Hub was off, it will attempt to change the password immediately when turned on or every 10 minutes until successful.

The automatically generated passwords contain 15-32 characters including a combination of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters. Note that when the device account's password is changed, you won't be shown the new password. If you need to sign in to the account, or to provide the password again (for example, if you want to change the device account settings on the Surface Hub), then you'll need use Active Directory or the Microsoft 365 admin portal to reset the password.

The device affiliation option selected during initial setup of the Surface Hub has an impact on which device account format can be used with password rotation. Hubs affiliated with an on-premise Active Directory can only rotate passwords of device accounts entered in domain\username format. Hubs affiliated with a Microsoft Entra ID can only rotate passwords of device accounts entered in user...@domain.com format, and only if the device account is cloud-only.

We should know Surface 3 tablet password reset is not so tough as somebody think. First, Surface Pro and Surface 3 tablet are installed with new Windows 8.1/10 and there are some new sign-in options available besides forgotten password, such as PIN code and Picture password. Second, lots of password recovery ways apply to all Windows systems, so you could always find one for your Surface tablet, such as password reset disk and password recovery tool etc.

This option shows how you can login Surface 3 tablet with new sign-in options or built-in administrator at first, and then reset forgotten Surface tablet Windows password with command run as administrator.

After you entered wrong password to sign in Surface 3, message about "Surface 3 login password is incorrect" would tell you need to choose another login user account or sign-in options to access locked Surface 3 tablet.

On Windows 10 login screen, if built-in administrator has been enabled, you can see (called "Administrator") and select it at the left bottom side to login Surface 3 instantly without password.

Password reset disk is a bootable drive that everyone could create free with the feature provided in Windows computer. And it saves Windows user and password etc information. So after you failed to login Surface 3 tablet, you could take the pre-created reset disk to reset forgotten Windows password. Just click "Reset password" link under password box to open Password Reset Wizard on locked tablet and set a new password for login user.

If you are worried about there is no password reset disk, the password recovery tool iSunshare Windows Password Genius Advanced would make you relax. It can instantly burn a powerful password recovery disk with bootable USB flash drive on available computer, and the disk could easily remove Windows 10/8.1/.8/7/vista/XP password and reset Windows server password for all user accounts.

Clicking Begin burning button and agree to format the USB device at first. And then wait for few seconds to successfully burn Windows Password Genius Advanced into writable USB flash drive.

Select Surface tablet password-unknown user and click Reset Password on Windows Password Genius Advanced. Click Yes button then to make sure remove or reset forgotten Windows 8.1/10 password for locked Surface tablet.

Tap or click "Reboot" button after Surface 3 password reset with password recovery tool, and instantly disconnect USB recovery disk. Until Surface 3 successfully restarts from hard drive and go to logon screen, just select the user you have removed or reset password to login and unlock Surface tablet without password or with new password.

In a word, no matter who you are and what you face now on Surface 3 tablet, Windows Password Genius is undoubtedly a good utility on effectively and safely resetting forgotten Windows password or creating new administrator for locked Surface 3 tablet.

Surely restore Surface to factory settings could solve your problem if you only need to reset or remove surface tablet password and don't care about data loss. But compared to Surface hard reset, I think Surface Windows 8.1/10 installation disc would be more appropriate for locked Surface 3 and resetting Surface 3 tablet password without damage.
