Greetings neighbors and friends,

I know that this weekend is a big party, fun weekend for the 40th
Anniversary of Pride BUT ... this weekend is our last chance to help
out with the SF SMART Reform petition drive to help save San Francisco
from going bankrupt due to unsustainable pension and retiree benefit
liabilities for public employees. I am writing to ask for your help
because I do not want to see our city continue to cut services and to
nickel-and-dime San Franciscans with fees and tickets.

I am writing to ask you to join me in working on a campaign to help
save our City this weekend. SF SMART Reform's petition for a new law
to get on the ballot in November would save $170 million by reforming
the city's pension system. They desperately need volunteers this
weekend to help gather signatures because this is one of the last
weekends before the deadline. It's actually both fun and challenging
to see democracy in action, and if you were ever needed to help make a
positive change for San Francisco, this is it!

Can you help? We are meeting at campaign headquarters at 910 Harrison
Street (at 5th) on Saturday and Sunday at 10:00am. Go upstairs and
past the Airport Express office to enter the campaign headquarters. I
hope I can count on you!

Thank you,
jamie whitaker
