Greetings neighbors and friends,

While the meeting topics for the Rincon Hill Neighborhood Association
meeting on April 6th at the Sailors' Union of the Pacific (450
Harrison Street) starting at 6pm are already nailed down, I'd like to
poll you in order to learn the most popular topic choice for our May
4th meeting at 6:30pm at The Infinity's Club Lounge (333 Main Street,
enter via the stairs from the central courtyard).

The possible topics include:
1) Neighborhood Safety and Crime
2) Earthquake Preparedness and NERT
3) Sustainability - Clean power, recycling, etc.
4) June 8th Elections Discussion

Please vote for your preferred topic (one of the four) at
http://www.doodle.com/tuzsxizwawhwduzq by March 29th.

I welcome and appreciate ideas and help setting up future meetings -
please email me at Rinco...@gmail.com with your ideas and offers to
help out!

If you have an interest in learning about earthquake preparedness
sooner rather than later, the SoMa Leadership Council meeting today
(Wednesday, March 17th, 6pm, 180 11th Street, 2nd Floor, wheelchair
accessible) includes an introduction to the City's Neighborhood
Emergency Response Team (NERT) program by SFFD Lt. Erica Arteseros.

If you'd rather celebrate St. Patrick's Day when you get home this
evening, I'd suggest visiting Kate O'Briens on Howard near 2nd,
Perry's on Steuart Street, or Gordon Biersch at 2 Harrison Street.
There'll be a very big street party in front of Harrington's on Front
Street between California and Sacramento, but I would not recommend it
to clausterphobic types as it gets incredibly crowded.

This Saturday, March 20th, members of SFMOMA, Asian Art Museum,
Cartoon Art Museum, Contemporary Jewish Museum, Museum of the African
Diaspora, Museum of Craft and Folk Art, SF Camerawork, or Yerba Buena
Center for the Arts can enjoy reciprocal free admission for yourself
and a companion. Learn more at http://www.sfmoma.org/events/1611

SouthBeachMissionBay.com is hosting a "neighborhood night" at
O'Neill's Irish Pub (747 3rd Street @ King Street) on Tuesday, March
30th from 6:30pm until ??? Cash Bar, Free Appetizers (served from
6:30p-8:30p). If you would like to join your neighbors for this event,
you must register by March 23rd @ http://www.SouthBeachMissionBay.com
(Go to “Contact Us” to send email. Include “Neighborhood Night” in
subject line. Include your full name and your Bldg name/address).

We should expect the road work on Harrison Street to begin in a couple
of weeks ... sadly, no pedestrian safety improvements will occur, only
improvements to help cars speed faster to the Bay Bridge entry on
1st.

Speaking of cars speeding away, there have been some strong arm
robberies in eastern SoMa over the last week or so - including nearby
One Rincon Hill along Harrison Street. The suspects are driving a
brown car (no additional info on the car type) and consist of a white
male and four hispanic females all in their late teens/early 20's.
I'll post additional details as I hear them on the www.RinconHillSF.org
blog, but you can get caught up via this posting:

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
