Please join your other Rincon Hill neighbors on Saturday (January
23rd) morning between 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. at the actual future
park site itself (333 Harrison Street, between Bridgeview Towers and
the Harrison Street offramp from the Bay Bridge). The gates will be
open, giving you a chance to get a realistic feel for the size and
locations of the main 'fixed' features such as the fire lane, the
garage, and the building. Then the plan is to mark some of the
features neighbors have indicated that they wanted at the December 8th
meeting at One Rincon Hill, the January 5th meeting at The Infinity,
and via the online survey at http://www.HarrisonStreetPark.com There
will be Coffee and Rolls, courtesy of our friends at Emerald Fund.
The February 2, 2010 Rincon Hill Neighborhood Association meeting will
be the next scheduled time when community members will get back
together to finalize the most desired elements for the 333 Harrison
Street neighborhood park and the most favored locations for those
elements on the park site. The February 2nd meeting will start a half
hour earlier than usual for a RHNA meeting, at 6 p.m., and will be
located at the Sailors' Union of the Pacific headquarters (450
Harrison Street) in their Library on the 1st floor. Please enter via
the main entrance facing Harrison Street by first walking up to the
corner of 1st and Harrison Streets. Isabel Wade indicated that the
last meeting that will likely occur in mid-February will show you some
sketches of the design concepts. In order to get direct
communications for this project, please sign up for the email list at

On Monday, 1/25/2010, the Rincon Point-South Beach Citizens Advisory
Committee meets at the South Beach Harbor Services Building starting
at 5pm. On the agenda this Monday are updates on the Brannan Street
Wharf open space project by Port Planner Dan Hodapp, Seawall 330
developments (I think this is the seawall that the Watermark
development sits on, but I'm not positive), and the Beale/Bryant Dog
Park and plaza progress update (likely from Marty Coressel who with
Josh Wolf has championed the project from the start).
On another front, the Central Subway Utility Relocation Project
running through mid-2011 has begun along 4th Street between Bryant and
Howard Streets in the Yerba Buena neighborhood. You can follow
Central Subway project activity by visiting http://www.CentralSubwayBlog.com

Jane Kim and Theresa Sparks have officially announced that they're
running for our District 6 Supervisor this week. They join Jim Meko,
Debra Walker, James Keys, Matt Drake, and about 16 or so others who
want to represent us in City Hall's Board of Supervisors between
January 2011 and January 2015 (see listing at
http://www.sfusualsuspects.com/elections/upcoming-races/ ). The SoMa
Waterfront neighborhood groups are planning to issue a District 6
Supervisor questionnaire later this year. If you have any recommended
questions, general recommendations for compiling a questionnaire, or
want to help put together a candidate questionnaire, please email me
at Rinco...@gmail.com to let me know of your interests and ideas.
Mission Creek Park ( http://missionbayparks.com/ ) is a real gem of an
outdoor recreation area located near Mission Creek between 4th and 7th
Streets. A recent entry at the Mission Local blog does raise some
questions about what's in the water though - read it at
http://missionlocal.org/2010/01/pollution-unmonitored-in-mission-creek/
If you have community concerns, ideas, or events (non-profit variety)
you'd like shared, please email them my way at Rinco...@gmail.com -
