Good afternoon neighbors and friends,

I hope you'll forgive me for sending a 3rd email within the same week,
but I do have some exciting news.

The California High-Speed Rail Authority Board met today in San Jose,
and they voted 6-1 to cease any further consideration of terminating
the high-speed rail trains along Beale Street (the so-called "Beale
Street Alternative") in downtown San Francisco. If you want the
details, you can read through their San Jose to San Francisco Segment
preliminary EIR documents at CHSRA eliminated Beale Street Alternative
from further consideration for SF terminus http://stage.cahighspeedrail.ca.gov/library.asp?p=8243
This leaves the Transbay Transit Center and the existing Caltrain
station at 4th and King (most likely, a combo of the two since the
Prop 1a bond money can only be used for a terminus at the Transbay
Transit Center .... overflow in future years, as California's
population grows, will likely terminate at the 4th and King Caltrain
station). Told you I had some exciting news! :)

Also, I can confirm that the Beale/Bryant future dog park site will be
open this Saturday from 9am until 11:30am for volunteers to help keep
the weeds and sidewalk cleaned up and for well-behaved dogs to run
around and play in a relatively big open space. Sounds like Caltrans
may have a big to do groundbreaking for the start of the dog park
construction tentatively in October ...

Sunday Streets visits Golden Gate Park and the Great Highway this
Sunday ... http://www.sundaystreetssf.com

The South Beach/Rincon/Mission Bay Neighborhood Association meets on
Monday, April 12th from 6pm until 7pm at the South Beach Harbor
Services Building's Community Room. The primary topic will be
pedestrian safety and a recently released study that hopefully
provides City Hall with some financial incentives to improve
pedestrian safety in San Francisco. Also, CleanPowerSF will briefly
discuss their project (and please don't ask them about evil Prop. 16
as they are government workers and can't directly tell you to vote
hell no on Prop. 16, PG&E's attempt to change the State Constitution
and eliminate competition, this June).
