Greetings Neighbors and Friends,
The next Rincon Hill Neighborhood Association meeting happens on
Tuesday, May 4th starting at 6:30 p.m. at The Infinity's Club Lounge
(enter The Infinity's central courtyard from Main Street and walk up
the stairs to the right behind 333 Main Street to enter the Club
Lounge). We will discuss resources for victims of domestic violence
with Walesa Kanarek from La Casa de las Madres (
http://www.lacasadelasmadres.org/
), neighborhood crime watches with Community Patrol USA's Ken Craig
(
http://www.trianglemaa.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=Page.viewPage&pageId=951
), San Francisco Patrol Special Police's Officer Scott Hart (
http://sfspecialneighborhoodpolicing.org/index.html ), and the process
of hiring Patrol Special Police from 50 Lansing's Jane Green. IF
there is free time (and interest), we'll briefly talk about the June
8th primary election. Please join us for this timely discussion about
neighborhood safety!
Related - A Beginner's Self-Defense Class for residents of South
Beach, Rincon Hill, and Mission Bay is being offered by Triangle
Martial Arts Association. Gary Pegueros received a tremendous
response to his query for interest in a Beginner's Self-Defense Class
(over 60 people so far), and welcomes additional interest for future
classes that the South Beach/Rincon/Mission Bay Neighborhood
Association will help to organize. The class size is limited to no
more than 30 people, and Gary hopes to schedule a second (and maybe a
third) class in the near future. Please write Gary at
garype...@sbcglobal.net if you are interested in taking the class
with your neighbors and want to be wait-listed for a future class.

supportive housing development at Essex and Folsom Streets (a.k.a.

not vote on the approval but instead asked the CHP folks and
Redevelopment Agency to talk with Rincon Hill residents about their
design.
