The Rincon HIll Neighborhood Association meeting originally scheduled
for tomorrow, April 6th is canceled. Between spring break, Harrison
Street getting torn up for repaving, and a temporarily mobility-
impaired facilitator (that's me), it doesn't make sense to hold the
meeting.
Our next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, May 4th at 6:30pm at The
Infinity's Club Lounge (enter the courtyard and go up the stairs to
the right). We will be focusing on public safety and what some
neighbors are doing. If you've implemented some successful strategies
for keeping your property and/or fellow homeowners safe and would like
to share those strategies as a speaker on May 4th, please let me
know ... hoping that folks can leave the meeting with ideas and steps
they can implement at their building or on a personal/family level to
improve safety. We will also briefly and informally discuss the June
8th election propositions, for those neighbors interested in that
stuff. You must be registered to vote by MAY 24th if you wish to vote
in the June 8th Primary election For the non-proposition items, we'll
be electing partisan candidates for Governor, Lt. Governor, U.S.
Senator (Boxer's the incumbent), Congress (Pelosi's the incumbent),
several other state offices, and several seats on the local County
Central Committee. This election year is even more important than
most because I believe that the long-term fiscal stability of the
state and local governments will likely be determined by the leaders
we choose this go around.
For those folks interested in the alignment of high-speed rail trains
to downtown San Francisco, the California High-Speed Rail Authority
Board is going to hear about the alternatives on Thursday from their
consultants at a meeting that is open to the public in San Jose. I'm
sure I'm not alone in praying that they stop considering the Beale
Street Alternative since it would likely necessitate several hundred
homes being demolished in Rincon Hill. Meeting information and other
details are in today's Chronicle:

I'm not absolutely certain (check the RinconHillSF.org blog around
Thursday for confirmation), but I believe the Bryant/Beale future dog
park site will be open this Saturday from 9am until 11:30am for
volunteers to help clean it up and for well-behaved dogs to come
stretch their legs and run around a bit.
This year’s Northern California Cherry Blossom Festival will be held
on Saturday and Sunday April 10-11 and April 17-18, 2010. Join in the
festivities as San Francisco celebrates Japanese and Japanese American
culture in Japantown! More information can be found at http://nccbf.org/
On April 13th, the South Beach/RIncon/Mission Bay Neighborhood
Association meets from 6pm until 7pm at the South Beach Harbor
Services Building's Community Room.
