Interspire Email Marketer only needs this if you are sending via an SMTP server. If you prefer to send via your local mail server software you can leave the SMTP settings blank and Interspire Email Marketer will send the emails via the mail() command in php which uses your local server software.
The largest factor affecting the speed of IEM is the speed of the mail delivery service. Most ISPs will limit the sending rate per hour. Please contact them to raise the limit. Alternatively use a dedicated email delivery service provider to connect Interspire to.
I am using Mailjet SMTP Server along with Interspire Email Marketer to send emails to a large group of users (around 54,000). I once used Mailjet's inbuilt Email Marketer to perform a similar function, and it took only about 45 minutes to send all the emails. However, Interspire Email Marketer takes about 18-20 hours to send the same number of emails.
We know that Interspire Email Marketer has to interact with the external Mailjet SMTP, but is there anyway we can reduce the time taken by Interspire to send the emails? Any help would be appreciated.

Ok, this shouldn't be that hard but what about that X? Here is where things get a bit tricky. You can't expect to be able to send 1 million emails per day from one IP. So it all depends on the size of your list. And some say size doesn't matter.
I can tell you my system setup for my main server. I try to keep my lists as clean as possible even tho we could argue a lot if they are legit or not. I also try to get as much info as possible about my contacts so I always create custom fields and try to segment my lists as much as possible. At the time of writing this, I have a bit less than 1.500.000 contacts in all my lists on this server. I can honestly say that I do my best and try to send at least 1 email per week to each of my 1.5mio contacts. I'm not going to use work subscribers. So from one system, I send about 6 million emails per month. For this, I am using a system with 20 external MTAs.
This way I am balancing this 6mio emails over 20 different IPs so each IP send 300.000 emails per month or 10.000 per day. This is called IP rotation and if you want your emails to be delivered, well you should use it.
Even if you did buy your list you should always make sure it is as clean as possible and try to segment it as much as possible. This is hard to do if your bought contact list came only with email addresses. But you could still get info from your contacts like country and what device are they using. Little things.like this can help you with list segmentation and you can better target your audience.
