Biography

Abdul Haleem Khawaja was born in Lahore, Pakistan, in 1947. He obtained his B.A. and M.A. degrees in economics from the University of Punjab, and his Ph.D. degree in economics from the University of Manchester, UK. He started his academic career as a lecturer at the Government College Lahore in 1970, and later became a professor at the same institution. He also served as a visiting professor at the University of Karachi, the Quaid-i-Azam University, the International Islamic University, and the Lahore University of Management Sciences. He has also been a consultant for various national and international organizations, such as the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, the Islamic Development Bank, and the Ministry of Finance of Pakistan.
