HoweverRockchips high end chipsets are better (AnTUTu benchmarks & more) than Amlogics high end chipsets
If i remember correctly the xmedex xtreme plus ranked 50k on antutu which is very impressive compared to the minix which was in the mid 30k zone
from CNX: "Rockchip RK3399 hexa-core processor with ARM Cortex A72 and A53 cores and a Mali-T860MP GPU will soon be found in TV boxes, development boards, tablets, Chromebooks, virtual reality headset and more, and is widely expected to offer a significant performance boost against previous Rockchip processors, including RK3288, and outperform SoCs from competitors like Amlogic and Allwinner."
If the RK3288 already outperforms the newer AMlogic chipsets, just imagine the RK3399!
The actual most powerful, versatile Android media player on the market is not AMLogic or Rockchip but the NVIDIA Shield. Which also gives you up to 4K HDR DRM video streaming from Netflix, Amazon etc.
Something no other Android box can do.
The actual most powerful, versatile media player on the market is not AMLogic or Rockchip but the NVIDIA Shield. Once you start getting around the $200 price mark or above that is what users should be looking at.
If you are a simple person and just want to do simple things, any cheap android box will do (a cheap amlogic one would be best. Dont buy the "aldi 4k" lol. As many have been fooled with that one, which is even worse than no name boxes from china. It uses a very low performance allwinner chipset).
I did send it back to him to a Melbourne address and he refunded me the cost and postage overal I lost .60c because PayPal took it.
Now I'm looking for tv box that is not to dear but not China rubbish.
Thanks
Something which should take less than 2min can take 15 minutes. For non tech-savvy users, forget about it!
Ha Ha. Try getting Non-Tech savvy users to use a regular Android tablet OS touchscreen interface on a TV screen with some sort of mouse. They will hate you for life for torturing them.
Its the exact reason you do not see Mainstream media companies using touchscreen interfaces on PVR's, Smart TV's, Bluray players and other Apple, Roku, Amazon, NVIDIA. HDMI > TV connected media players. There would be a massive consumer backlash if they did.
