Whenthe users gaffed, the person on the phone (who called himself Thomas) became irate and began yelling and seething at our users. A few of them hung up, one fell for it and gave up the information on the copier.
I notified all of our users and gave a quick follow-up training on social engineering. I also contacted our financial, receiving and AP departments and warned them to look out for phony invoices and unsolicited materials.
Yes, we have had a couple of calls but all of our copiers are leased and under contract so they did not get far. I did hear from a few users that the callers were very abusive when they did not get what they wanted.
At home rather than the office (in the UK) my wife got a call regarding slow internet and that they needed to fix our computer, my wife told Ms Dehli that it was a scam, not to call again and hung up.
Now to me this was funny, I let her carry on like this for a while, until she eventually ran out of steam and hung up, but for someone less jaded, or elderly or even just someone with an ounce of sensitivity, this would have been very distressing.
How are these people still able to operate?
You would think the with all the monitoring software out there these people could be easily traced have thier operations shutdown. (Not to mention the NSA)
What they are hoping for is that the bill will just get paid without query. If it does get queried, they hope that there will enough information to make it sound like a genuine purchase order, so that it will go through the system anyway.
These people call my company at least every couple of months, our front office always gives me a call and asks me if I want to speak with them. Sometimes I say yes but I never manage to get them to actually talk to me, they always just hang up once I answer the phone.

Various units in Finance and Business Services [FABS] have distinct responsibilities in support of the CCP. FD&O and ITS also support campus copiers, including their installation, network connectivity, troubleshooting, and relocation as needed. The copier supplier provides service/repairs and copier supplies such as toner and staples. Please see the Campus Copier Program Guide and Checklists for details on these stakeholder roles and responsibilities.
Each campus department with an office copier [or departments that share one copier] designates a contact known as a Key Operator, responsible for meeting on-site needs, such as being point-of-contact for employees and service technicians, contacting service, ordering supplies, etc.
Departments receive a hard copy manual with their copier. If your manual is ever misplaced, or if your copying needs have changed, we've provided links to online manuals and specifications for your convenience.
Imagine the convenience of having a copier and networked printer right in your office, while avoiding significant capital outlay required to purchase one outright. As your needs change, the Campus Copier Program (CCP) includes provisions to trade up to a newer model. The added bonus of using CCP is that supplies and service are included for worry free maintenance.
Copy anywhere on campus with a CCP Copy Card. Faculty, staff and students with a recharge account number can conveniently use copiers located throughout the campus and the medical center.
What would be an ideal starting setup in general and also in number of copiers, pullers, and hashers for a application that will only consist of a local syncthing instance, and an instance of syncthing in a docker container on the host machine. So just a one to one two way syncing of files being worked on in real time.
The Copier Resource Management Program (CRMP) simplifies the copier acquisition process for its customers. We stay abreast of the latest trends in the copying and printing industry and use that knowledge to create contracts that are cost effective and appropriate for our customers' needs. By serving as liaison between our customers and vendors, we ensure that contract users receive the service they are entitled to, and we analyze our customers' copying and printing needs so they acquire the appropriate equipment without having to deal with sales pressure.
All state agencies within the executive branch of state government and all state agencies that are located in facilities that are managed by the Office of Management and Budget must have a written recommendation from CRMP before they acquire a copier. CRMP will also provide consultation to any other entity that is eligible to use a state contract for copiers.
Whether you are interested in acquiring a new copier or looking to replacing your existing contract copier, please fill out the CRMP Recommendation Request form and submit it to Copier Management.
REF: Title 29, Chapter 6911(d) Delaware Code. Every state department and agency within the Executive Branch and Judicial Branch of the state government shall procure all material, equipment and nonprofessional services through the statewide contracts administered by Government Support Services, Office of Management and Budget. Delaware State University, Delaware Technical and Community College, the operations funded by Public School Districts, Delaware Transit Corporation, Department of Elections, the Legislative Branch and the Board of Pension Trustees and their consultants are specifically exempted from the requirements of this subsection.
There are no month-to-month options available within the current contract and month-to-month options cannot be entered into as this may pose litigation opportunities against the State of Delaware. Please ensure you arrange pick-up of your expired copier in a timely manner within 30 days from expiration. Arrangements for ordering a replacement copier should be handled through the current state contracted vendor (see replacement information below). Once your copier is picked up, please fill out the Copier Pick-up Form and submit that as well so we can ensure the pickup of your machine has been properly documented with Copier Management records.
The copier program provides departments within the University copying equipment on a cost-per-copy lease basis. Any department using an account to lease a copier that is processed through the university controller's office must use the cost-per-copy program. Services for participants in the program include: copier maintenance, monthly usage monitoring, access control and ordering and delivering of supplies. If a department is interested in leasing a copier, email
copy.p...@unr.edu.
We will help you determine the most appropriate copier selection by considering the following items: average monthly volume of copies, required machine features, available machine space, voltage needed, budget allowance, dependability of the copier, quality of copies, and speed. A written estimate will be sent to the department listing the copier model and accessories.
The order is placed after we receive written approval from the requesting department. Please include the billing account number for copier charges and the request must be signed by the person with signature authority on the account. It takes approximately 30-45 working days for a machine to arrive after the initial order has been placed.
Departments should send (MS #0236) or e-mail
copy.p...@unr.edu a written request to add, delete or change account numbers. The request must be signed by the authorized signature on the billing account number.
If you have questions regarding monthly copier billing, need to request a copier expense/charge for a previous billing, or have questions about your area's monthly copier usage report, please contact UW Copier Services at:

I need to make copies at a remote location that has No wifi and no computer. This remote warehouse does have normal 110-120V electrical power. i was looking for a 'stand alone' copier. The HP deskjet 4152 has All in one features for Printing, Scanning and COPYING.. The Copying is the only function I need. Is it possible to just use this deskjet 4152 as a stand alone Copier without having wifi or a computer.??? What steps do I need to do first.? I removed the 4152 from box.. removed all Blue tape.. installed the cartridges, Plugged power cord to printer and to wall outlet. I pressed the power ON button and the. Cartridges made some noise... but pressing the COPY button did Nothing. No noise etc. The message screen only says " searching for Wifi". Is it possible to print a COPY of a document like a Stand alone Copier machine can.?? Can I print a TEST or Alignment page without a computer or wifi.?
Thanks for your insights. P.S. a Local computer repair person said they could setup this 4152 to COPY without computer or wifi..but the amount they want to charge is more than price i paid for this ALL in one printer. Thanks again for anyone's help or insights.
