Documentaryfilmmaker James Redford released the trailer for Paper Tigers, a documentary that follows four teens who attend Lincoln High School in Walla Walla, WA. Lincoln was the first high school in the country to integrate trauma-informed and resilience-building practices, which resulted in an 85 percent decline in suspensions and a 40% decline in expulsions after the first year. After four years, suspensions had dropped 90 percent, expulsions dropped to zero, and graduation rates increased five-fold.

I live in walla walla and have been following Linclon High School and the work they have been doing. I know 4 of the students that were fetured in the film about the LHS Health Center. Keep up the good work and i look forward to the movie. i posted and linked the trailer to all my FB ppl. I read most of the posts on ACEs TOO HIGH. dont stop i have a score of 6 BTW, 5 on the short survey and 1 survivor of a major TBI at age 6.

Is there a way I could put the link to this documentary trailer on Facebook? Would like to share this with my colleagues in a wider way than individually forwarding your email. Thank you for considering this, Juliana

Custom vending trailers like this are perfect for experiential marketing mobile tours, events, festivals, sampling programs, or as a merch trailer at concerts, music festivals, or sporting events. They are also ideal as high school vending trailers like this to sell school merchandise.

This is optional, but 30 seconds of introduction helps! Show students the cover, highlight the author and any of their popular titles, and generate a little pre-viewing interest. You can read parts of the back cover blurb before or after the trailer if you want to hook students even more.

Mobile Devices: If you are using a mobile device to capture video, we recommend you record your footage horizontally (see graphic above) to fit the prescribed 16:9 format required. Note: Mobile devices record video at a variable rate, not at a set rate (30fps, for example). It is highly recommended that you edit footage captured on a mobile device in a video editing program to address this.

Video Optimization: To ensure that the highest quality of video is being submitted, it is strongly recommended that web video and optimization options NOT be used in the video output options. Please refer to the help and support or user manual of the editing software you are using for more information.

Can a submission be based on a book or a play? The answer to that frequently asked question is yes, absolutely. A number of students have created movie trailers based on books and plays. Pro tip: Recruit your school drama club. We do not recommend creating a trailer based on a movie or television series due to potential copyright infringement issues. As for parodies of movies or TV shows? It's only acceptable so long as you don't use imagery, graphics, or music directly from the property you are making a parody of without proof of permission which, frankly, is extremely difficult and probably not worth the effort.

The content guidelines for the Movie Trailer Contest are a G/PG Rating. This guidance was added during the 2019-2020 school year. In recent years, submissions have tended to feature violence, drug use and bullying. These are not societal elements the contest wishes to highlight or celebrate. As such, moving forward all submissions must follow the G and PG Ratings outlined below.

A G-rated motion picture contains nothing in theme, language, nudity, sex, violence or other matters that, in the view of the Rating Board, would offend parents whose younger children view the motion picture. The G rating is not a "certificate of approval," nor does it signify a "children's" motion picture. Some snippets of language may go beyond polite conversation but they are common everyday expressions. No stronger words are present in G-rated motion pictures. Depictions of violence are minimal. No nudity, sex scenes, or drug use are present in the motion picture.

A PG-rated motion picture should be investigated by parents before they let their younger children attend. The PG rating indicates, in the view of the Rating Board, that parents may consider some material unsuitable for their children, and parents should make that decision.

The more mature themes in some PG-rated motion pictures may call for parental guidance, but these elements are not deemed so intense as to require that parents be strongly cautioned beyond the suggestion of parental guidance. There is no drug use content in a PG-rated motion picture.

It is highly encouraged that participants in the CapEd Movie Trailer Contest seek creative ideas and content that is aspirational and acceptable to an all-age audience. Additionally, the content must follow rules established and accepted within the education community. CapEd reserves the right to reject submissions that do not follow the above guidelines or rules.

Each year, CapEd Credit Union assembles a group of local media professionals along with a handful of CapEd employees to review and rate the movie trailers submitted by students. The media professionals are typically individuals with extensive broadcasting or video production backgrounds who have a good understanding of the work and techniques required to produce an edited piece. Below is the rating rubric used by the judges.

The rubrics are collected from the judges after the submissions have been viewed and the forms filled out. Winners are determined strictly based on an aggregate score tallied from all the rubrics. In the extremely rare case of a tie for one of the winning places, the two videos in question are reviewed and rated a second time by the CapEd Marketing team. On average, there are twelve judges participating each year.

Producers must fill out and submit a Movie Trailer Contest Submission Form. As a producer, you must also fill out and submit a Video Release Form. Each individual who participated in the making of a video must also submit a Video Release Form. You can review our Children's Online Privacy Policy Opens in new tab. for more information about how submission data for individuals under the age of 13 is handled.

On Monday afternoon at South High, students could purchase hot chicken sandwiches, fruits and vegetables, drinks and other supplemental items from the food trailer at lunchtime. Students lined up as school nutrition employee Shannon Overcash worked the food trailer.

All students, regardless of how they pay, can punch in their student numbers just like they do inside the school cafeteria. The meals are cooked in advance inside the school kitchen and School Nutrition employees transport the items to the food trailer.

Child Nutrition Supervisor Graye Templeton, who was the school nutrition director at South Iredell High for many years, said the changes are helping increase participation. The food trailer is serving around 150 meals each day for breakfast and lunch.

The food trailer was purchased as part of a three-bid purchase that includes a food truck and food van from Coast-to-Coast Mobile vending for a total of $240,000. The food van, which is parked at Statesville High School, helps provide lunches for early college students. The district is still awaiting delivery of the food truck, which is scheduled for this year.

I wish the school system offered better food options. My son has brought home a pancake that was as hard as our granite countertops, along with telling us about other issues. The food is always cold and dry.

Our Career Exploration Trailer comes to you, for free with interactive and hands-on activities that let students explore the high-tech side of transportation careers in Automotive, Collision & Repair, Heavy Equipment, Heavy Truck and Diesel, Marine & Powersports, Professional Truck Driving, and Aviation. The trailer is available to travel to high schools like a mobile lab or is available for career events where it will be parked for the duration of the event. You can request the trailer at the bottom of the page.

Do you have an eye for color? This activity will have you match a painted fender to the correct paint sample using a special light. Next to the fender you can learn the different steps in which an auto body technician uses to complete the paint process!

There's an immense amount of pressure on high schoolers today, from competing to get into top colleges, to managing school work and extracurriculars, to dealing with the stress of life during a pandemic. For many young people, that pressure is too much. In a 2019 Pew Research Center Survey, about 61% of teens surveyed said they felt a lot of pressure to get good grades. By comparison, the second highest concern in the survey was to look good, with 29% of respondents saying they feel a lot of pressure to do so.

A new HBO documentary follows students starring in a musical that explores this pressure. My So-Called High School Rank, premiering on November 29, follows students in a production of the high school musical, Ranked, a show all about just how far students and parents will go to secure their academic futures.

My So-Called High School Rank, produced and directed by Ricki Stern and Annie Sundberg, premieres on November 29 on HBO and will be available to stream on HBO Max. Get your first look at the trailer here:

In February 2021, actor Giamatti and director Alexander Payne reunited, since collaborating on the 2004 film "Sideways," to start filming "The Holdovers" in the New England area. Filming took place at Fairhaven High School on Feb. 26, and at the Wamsutta Club at 427 County St. in New Bedford.
