Krater,
Do you have any idea what sort of OS the Rigol runs on? Any trace of basic OS facilities, like schedulers, memory allocation etc?

It looks like they didn't use a OS...maybee a really small embedded OS, but nothing that looks like linux i.e.
I didn't found dynamic memory allocation and if they really have multitasking, then it is cooperative multitasking.
In my opinion they used VirtualDSP 4.x to write the firmware from scratch.
