Support for Mac OSX?

Hi, don't know if this is the correct place to ask this... but I noticed that the latest release does not have an installer for Mac.  Is there any particular reason why?

I'm willing to try building from source, but before I start I would like to know if there's any fundamental issue that is going to prevent me from doing so?
