Hi Geert!

I have a question related to the Rife's performance.
In our project we have a huge site.xml file with flowlink definitions
of all elements. The file has around 4K size.
After auto-redpolyment in my IDE I have wait very long(around 1 minute
@ one core cpu) to get http response for the first request. Request is
sent to the element which has arounf 15 flow links definitions. Next
request to the same element have short response time from the
application.

Do Such a behavior depend on number of flowlinks in one elements? Or
it's just a feature of Rife architecture to have long of
initialization after some number of elements in the project ?

Kind regards,
Michael Chudas.

Hi Michael,

The startup time is of course dependent on any of the meta features of
RIFE. Anything in your site structure needs to be analyzed by RIFE at
startup time to perform the required discovery and instrumentation.

The best way of alleviating this is by creating smaller sub-sites that
you include in your huge site.xml.

Those sub-site can then be worked on in isolation without having to
load everything.

Hope this helps,

Geert
