Las sucursales Willie Mae Kirk y Old Quarry de la Biblioteca Pblica de Austin estarn cerradas por renovaciones importantes a partir del verano de 2024, con la reapertura planificada para principios de 2025.

Los residentes de las Jurisdicciones de Propsito Limitado y Extraterritoriales de Austin ya no estarn sujetos a tarifas de no residentes para las tarjetas de la biblioteca... El Concejo Municipal de Austin aprob recientemente una ordenanza que elimina la tarifa de la tarjeta de biblioteca para no residentes para los residentes de ciertas reas justo fuera de la jurisdiccin de pleno...

Todos nuestros servicios son gratuitos y tenemos algo para todas las edades. Nuestra mission es proveer recursos para el acceso a la informacin, prstamo de libros, programas, clubs, y actividades que les permitan alcanzar sus metas.

Tenemos seis bibliotecas que procesan el formulario de solicitud DS-11: Accokeek, Greenbelt, Largo-Kettering, Laurel, New Carrollton y Oxon Hill. El horario del servicio de pasaportes vara segn el lugar.

Puede solicitar una cita de 30 minutos a travs de nuestra pgina web o llamando a "Biblio Consulta". La cita debe pedirse 5 semanas antes de la fecha de viaje. Cada solicitante debe tener una cita por separado.

The Library of IVAM offers users a number of services, among which includes the consultation room of over 12,000 volumes, access to the internet from the computers of the reading room or the possibility of taking home the documents available for loan, with the requirement to have your Library card.

The Library is open for the purpose of study and research in modern and contemporary art. It contains approximately 12,000 open access items. Multimedia material is also accessible. Means of reproduction are offered to users.

The IT Facilities are made available for you to use principally for the purpose of your research or studies. You are allowed to make occasional personal use of the IT Facilities only if such use does not disrupt or interfere with normal operation of the Library, or disturb staff or other Library visitors.

We provide a scanner self-service facility for the users to get copies of documents of the Library. Copyright law must be observed when copying of Library material and in all copying carried out in the Library, whether by reprographic or any other means. The copy of rare or fragile contents is under the discretion of the staff.

The Library will generally allow reproductions of materials in its collections for research use. When reproduction was for other purposes, users should ask to the Library for permission bibli...@ivam.es. Instructions for ordering and information on fees will be provided. It is up to the user to obtain the permission for copywrited works.

The Bibliographic Information Service responds to all types of enquiries, both from its in-house and remote users bibli...@ivam.es. Staff guides users to learn the resources the IVAM Library has available, so that they can take full advantage of them.

The Library is open to: researchers and scholars with appropriate qualifications and/or relevant scientific publications; teachers and researchers at Universities and other institutes of Higher Education; graduate students (laureati) who are pursuing research for a doctoral dissertation; in exceptional cases, undergraduate students who can demonstrate that they need to consult material which is available only at the Vatican Library; it is not open to High School students, nor, as a rule, to undergraduate University students;

The following Regulations are intended above all to assure scholars the working conditions appropriate to a place of study and research.

Therefore, scholars are exhorted to read them carefully and to respects the norms scrupulously.

The library has promoted a research activity that makes use of IIIF (International Image Interoperability Framework) technology for the creation of annotations on the folios of the digitized manuscripts (transcriptions, comments on texts, glosses, illuminations, writings, identification of scribes, owners, illuminators) relating to specific selections of manuscripts.

Codices Vaticani Latini 11266-11326 include the lists of the titles of the books owned by the religious of the Italian convents and monasteries, acquired by the Congregation of the Index of Prohibited Books after the publication of the Index librorum prohibitorum by Pope Clement VIII in 1596.

It is possible to order photocopies (only for printed books published between 1601 and 2008), black & white photographs, color photographs, microfilms, or CD-ROMs made from microfilms (in the case of printed books, only if they were published before 2008), from manuscripts or from photographs of objects. Completed order forms may be submitted to the distribution desks or sent by mail to the Library.

Mantiene bajo su custodia sobre 70,000 ttulos nicos en diversos formatos como libros, revistas, peridicos, audiovisuales, manuscritos, entre otros con un enfoque en Puerto Rico y el Caribe en las disciplinas humansticas. La Biblioteca cuenta con una Sala de Referencia y Estudio, una Sala de Literatura Infantil, la Sala Eugenio Mara de Hostos, un espacio para exhibiciones y un rea de computadoras para acceso pblico. Entre las colecciones encontramos: Coleccin de Referencia, Coleccin Puertorriquea, Coleccin General (temas extranjeros), Coleccin de Revistas y Peridicos, Coleccin de Libros Raros y Libros Raros de Puerto Rico y la Coleccin Juvenil. Adems, la biblioteca mantiene varias colecciones especializadas: Coleccin Antiguo Casino, Coleccin Samuel R. Quiones, Coleccin Van Dousen, Coleccin Filipo de Hostos, la Coleccin Dra. Concha Melndez y la Coleccin Eugenio Mara de Hostos.

La Biblioteca Nacional es un espacio de investigacin, enriquecimiento y divulgacin de los valores culturales de Puerto Rico y est abierta al pblico para su disfrute y consulta. Adems, se ofrecen varios servicios para la comunidad, entre los que destacan: actividades educativas, exhibiciones temticas y los recorridos educativos guiados.

Referencia y apoyo a la investigacin

El personal de la biblioteca provee apoyo a la investigacin, mediante la orientacin sobre los temas y recursos de informacin disponibles en la coleccin. Estos pueden ayudarle en persona, al visitar la biblioteca, por telfono o correo electrnico.

Acceso a computadoras y red de Internet Wifi

La biblioteca provee varias computadoras en sala para investigacin, adems cuenta con acceso a Internet wifi de alta velocidad que puede ser utilizado en nuestras facilidades mientras realiza sus estudios. Para utilizar las computadoras o acceder a la red, solicite apoyo al personal bibliotecario.

Actividades y exhibiciones

Durante el ao, la biblioteca coordina charlas, talleres, conferencias, seminarios, entre otras actividades educativas para el disfrute de todos. Adems, presenta varias exhibiciones temticas durante el ao, resaltando los valiosos recursos que se preservan en la coleccin.

Sala de literatura infantil

La biblioteca cuenta con un rea designada para el disfrute familiar de la lectura de cuentos infantiles y el desarrollo de actividades educativas. El rea tiene mesas de trabajo, teatro de tteres, pizarra, libros en espaol e ingls y est abierta a toda la comunidad para visitas.

Sala Eugenio Mara de Hostos

La Biblioteca Nacional de Puerto Rico tiene a su cargo la Sala Eugenio Mara de Hostos. Esta fue creada por la Ley # 96 del 26 de junio de 1974 con el propsito de tener un espacio o sala de estudio donde mantener y preservar el acervo documental y bibliogrfico de nuestro ilustre pensador de Amrica, Don Eugenio Mara de Hostos y Bonilla. En esta Sala conservamos la memorabilia de este prcer mayagezano que incluye, su escritorio, su silla, sus espejuelos, sus libros, sus condecoraciones y un aproximado de 1,600 cartas originales escritas por l; as como tambin leos pertenecientes a la familia Hostos, una pequea coleccin de hallazgos arqueolgicos de su hijo, Don Adolfo de Hostos y una coleccin de libros pertenecientes a su otro hijo, Don Filipo de Hostos, en su mayora considerados libros raros. Los estudiosos de su figura y aportaciones pueden coordinar una cita para investigar el contenido de sus libros y manuscritos, a travs de una carta de solicitud al director de la Biblioteca.
