Hello, I am having the double input problem please? When I try to scroll to the left or the right the movement is doubled, also some of the buttons do not respond such as the R2, L2, I am using a generic gamepad, but tried a PS4 controller using the steam setting with nothing working.
Also tried using x360ce to configure the controller and it seems every button got messed up, X was replaced with O and vice versa, also Triangle with Square.
Any help will be appreciated.

What happens when the bug occurs? When I use my controller to play the game, the menu skips two places. After navigating to kickoff using my mouse, I can see two controllers although I have one.
What should be happening instead? The Menu should work how it does with the keyboard and my ghost controller should not be seen.
Are you also having the problem where u flick the controler button once to the right and it goes twice, Mine does that then ends up in an infinite fast cycle of scrolling through all the tabs and i cant do anything

So long story short. I downloaded Fifa 22 yesterday out of boredom. Started playing and my whole controller mapping was screwed up (eg. X was bound on my Right arrow). 3 hours of research on the internet later got me to uninstall Gforce Experience and use ds4windows. Well now I got to the point where I can proceed thru the "choose your language" tab, but now I have a problem where my joystick keeps going all sides, only in menus though. I can play matches like normal, also tried playing Rocket League and I dont get any problems with it. This is costing me my sanity, it has come to the point where I looked up the resell value of my whole gaming setup, so if anyone can help me or needs additional information hmu.

Me too, I'm using a XBOX One controller, so I dont have to use DS4 or whatever, but anyway it doesnt work and the buttons are jumping arround and when I play a game, it suddenly pause out of nowhere. Year after year there are always these * controller bugs and EA just doesn't do anything...
Omg guys. I was able to solve the problem. I have an XBOX One Controller and have paired it via Bluetooth. Now I've read on the Internet that Origin is said to have problems with Bluetooth. I connected my controller with a cable, started FIFA and now it works. I don't know about other controllers (PS4 etc.), but this is how it works for me.
Quickest way is to just do it in-game on the controller select screen (the one shown in my tweet). When you're on that screen, just press Y to change grip, then press the SL & SR buttons on each controller.
If you can't get it to work it might be because one of your controllers is broken. One of my joy cons had a broken ribbon cable inside it, causing the SL & SR buttons (and the lights on the rail) not to work. If that's the case, you can DIY fix it, just need to order the right part on ebay and follow a Youtube video. Fiddly but straightforward, I found.

Purpose of HIDGuardian is to hide original controllers from games, so that only virtual controllers are visible. Install HIDGuardian only if original controller prevents virtual controller functioning properly in the game.
DO NOT attempt to remove HIDGuardian by simply deleting it from Windows OS Device Manager. This can result in loosing access to your Mouse and Keyboard and you will be forced to follow Manual Uninstall Instructions below.
The x360ce.exe application version 3.x is just a GUI for editing x360ce.ini and testing your controller. The x360ce.exe (3.x) application can be closed before launching the game. The game doesn't need it and it uses your computer's resources.

Most streamers and FIFA esports players have thus changed their controller settings and camera settings to give themselves greater control over how they play and use the AI to their advantage where possible.
Unless you're an absolute beginner, make sure FIFA Trainer is set to 'Hide'. This is useful when learning which buttons perform which actions, but as you gain more experience, it becomes distracting.

There are three options for Auto Switching, but only one worth using: Air Balls and Loose Balls. After switching to this, make sure to turn Auto Switching Move Assistance to 'Low' so that the players will briefly continue their run after switching rather than stopping immediately.
As with some of the other defensive settings, set Jockey to 'Assisted'. This will help the defender stay within range of the opponent, but you will still have to move them with the analog stick to track their runs.
Auto Clearances should be set to on to help clear the danger at the back. Auto Shots, on the other hand, should be switched off as you want to be able to select when you take shots rather than having the AI decide for you.
Contextual Agile Dribbling is also a new addition in FIFA 21 and adds slight animations to help you get the ball past opponents in tight spaces using the R1/RB button. Make sure this is also turned on.
For all of Ground Pass Assistance, Through Ball Assistance, Shot Assistance, Cross Assistance, Lob Pass Assistance and Save Assistance, make sure to select 'Assisted'. More experienced players can switch to 'Semi' or even 'Manual', but in the vast majority of cases, the game will make the right decision when using assisted.
Perhaps the most important thing to change from its default setting is Analog Sprint. Be sure to turn this off as your players will then sprint at maximum capacity regardless of how hard you press the shoulder button. It makes no sense to sprint at a lower speed and if you wanted to sprint in bursts, you could hold and let go of the button instead.
