I am going to build microsip softphone from www.microsip.org, which is based on pjsip project. The pjsip project files are downloaded and built successfully.but when I build microsip source I get the following error :

I can register the softphones no problem. If try to call extension to extension it will want me to leave a voicemail. If I turn voice mail off try to call extension to extension it fails in the log as 200: Call (UDP:my.home.com:56133) to extension '*203' rejected because extension not found in context 'from-internal'.

I set up the firewall. I have my public ip on there. I was able to get two softphones to call each other but not out. The mic and/or speakers are not working when I do though. Also, I am unable to register my DID numbers using sip. Pjsip seems to work but not sip. Attached is I get when I try to register sip. atlanta1015105 2.84 KB Thanks.

MicroSIP is a free full functioning softphone for Microsoft Windows. After downloading the Windows software, just install the downloaded package and accept the Windows firewall permissions request.
Here is the link to get the software at microsip.org:
Download the MicroSIP-x.x.x.exe file at the top of that page. There is a lite version of well if diskspace usage is of concern.
Once downloaded, execute the file and accept the Windows firewall permissions request. Run the program after installed and you will see the dialpad:

I have a fast internet connection and the ping rate is usually below 10ms and my PC is connected via ethernet cable. However on my Voip.ms line, using Microsip and a softphone (wired headset), I constantly have an annoying delay on my calls, leading to me and the person I'm speaking with talking over each other. The delay is much worse than I experience using our other VOIP line (Google Voice) using a cordless phone plugged into an Obi202 ATA device.

Sorry if this is too offtopic I'm setting up multiple PCs at work to call from using MicroSIP softphone software and I've run into this issue on one of them. We use a website with a predictive dialer to make the calls and whenever I try to from her PC, it says "Phone redirected to a central" and nothing happens. She works from home, hence my bet is that it's most likely an issue with her internet or router settings. I can call people just fine though if I use the softphone software directly not using the website.

Thanks for the assist, I tried downloading the version you are using but same issue. I will install on a different computer tomorrow. I have been testing multiple softphones etc on this one so probably confused.

Hi, I have set up my account in MicroSIP. I manage to call from my normal mobile number to the softphone MicroSIP. If I type the phonenumber in MicroSIP and call, I get a "forbidden" message. But if I type i.e. 12...@myvoipgateway.com as a number, I can call my mobile.

MicroSIP is a softphone application that you can use for running communication sessions on your PC. Based on the SIP protocol, this service enables you to send and receive VoIP calls for free. It is compatible with any VoIP provider or SIP server. You only need to set up an account.

With the presence of the internet, messaging has radically changed. Now, people from across the world can connect easily. You can now make voice calls using your computer, thanks to the number of applications. MicroSIP is one of these services. As mentioned, it is a softphone software, which provides users with a simple method to keep in touch with anyone, regardless of their location,

According to the website, MicroSIP includes audio and video calling, messaging, echo cancellation during calls, customizable TLS/SRTP encryption, and a few more minor features. The program has been translated into several languages and can be used by people with visual impairments (the softphone is read from the screen by special programs).

MicroSIP, in our opinion, is perfect for a small call center that does not need in-depth work with calls. Or those who are not ready to pay for additional call processing functions. This softphone has a minimal set of functions, simple designs, and a low weight.

Softphone.Pro and Softphone.Pro Team are suitable for companies with a deeper interest in call quality. For example, an outsourced call center would be a good candidate for either of them. Many useful features, as well as their large buttons, make this softphone convenient for long-term use and accurate analysis of work. A small price acts as a nice bonus as well.

MicroSIP is a portable SIP softphone based on the PJSIP stack available for Microsoft Windows. It facilitates high quality VoIP calls (p2p or on regular telephones) based on the open SIP protocol.

Warning: if your computer does not have sound, pressing a button on the softphone keypad may not register the DTMF code (e.g. testing TopView alarm acknowledge). See the bottom of this post for more details and possible workaround.

MicroSIP is a practical, reliable and free softphone software suitable for most uses and scenarios. It offers a fast installation and quick setup, while focusing on efficiency and ease of use over flashy gimmicks. The software includes SIP calling, text messaging, and video calling capabilities, and can be integrated with LiveAgent for use in a call center. The app lacks some extra functionalities, but it does everything it advertises well and is worth considering as a free alternative.

Afterwards, you can select a preview of this newly added device that includes the necessary details to create a new MicroSIP account, which will be connected to the LiveAgent system. The last step is to go to your Voice settings (the phone icon in the upper right corner in the LiveAgent app) and select your newly added MicroSIP softphone as your preferred calling device. When these steps are complete, you can start making and receiving calls directly from LiveAgent.

Softphones are becoming increasingly popular and offer an alternative to desk phones, not least due to the increasing use of the mobile office.Based on this fact, SySS IT security expert Moritz Abrell analyzed the security of two Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) softphones.

To perform this attack, the attacker sends a SIP INVITE message to the target softphone. The softphone rings and the victim accepts the call. Due to the fact that nothing can be heard, the victim hangs up, which leads to a SIP BYE request originating from the softphone. The attacker then sends back the 407 Proxy Authentication Required response, after which the softphone sends back another BYE request, but this time the authentication data is included. At this point, the attacker has all the necessary data required for an offline password guessing attack.

During our responsible disclosure process, the manufacturer implemented some protection options for hardening the configuration of the softphone. These protection options can be traced in the commit e2e299766bb59c52be9f8df32ac87f1971034bd8 of the public GitHub repository.

We have reported this vulnerability to the manufacturer who has fixed it in version 3.20.7. The MicroSIP softphone no longer responds to an authentication request when this follows a self-initiated BYE request.

During the analysis, we discovered a Null Pointer Dereference vulnerability in the Linphone SIP stack, which allows an unauthenticated remote attacker to crash the softphone with a single request. The vulnerability is described in our security advisory SYSS-2021-014.

During our security analysis, we identified three vulnerabilities in two different softphones that could be exploited by an unauthenticated remote attacker, e.g. by making a malicious call. Our research results show that the security level of SIP stacks still needs improvement, which confirms our experience from penetration testing.

At the end of this article, you will be able to configure a SIP Device from your PBX to the MicroSIP softphone client, which is a popular open-source softphone for Windows. The article will also assist you with the softphone installation process. Should you need any assistance, feel free to contact our support department.

Open MicroSIP on your windows PC, then complete the SIP server, SIP login and SIP password fields as shown below. It is important to remember only a single SIP device can be connected to a single handset or softphone at a time, registering the same account details to 2 devices will cause your IP address to become blocked for 15 minutes. Additionally, we recommend updating the transport protocol to TCP instead of UDP, on the network settings. Utilising UDP for the transport protocol has the potential to cause issues with the softphone de-registering periodically.

You are calling from a PC softphone running MicroSip 3.14 using direct ip dialing over your local network from 192.168.1.127:51276 to 192.168.1.35:5061 using G711u codec and AVT for the DTMF transmission over the voip digital circuit.

I'm calling from a PC softphone MicroSip 3.14 using direct ip just for the test, and for normal use I have GSM gateway Matrix SETU ATA211g but this same the call is over local network, using direct IP. In both cases is G711u codec and AVT for the DTMF transmission.
I tried to make call to two mobile phones. First I dial numbers manually, and after, this same numbers was dialed by using dial plan (*2 and*3)

The strange is when I'm calling through PSTN Line Tab using direct ip dialing over local network, from softphone MicroSip or from GSM gateway, and I'm using dial plan (xx.) located in PSTN Line Tab. I can't make call, all the time I hearing "we sorry your number is not completely dial, check number and try again".
