GMercyU makes transferring colleges affordable by offering transfer student scholarships and grants, which range from $10,000 to $17,000 annually. They are available to full-time students with at least 24 credits from another postsecondary institution.

Note: Transfer students are students who have completed one or more college credits following high school graduation. If you have completed 20 or fewer credits post high school you may be evaluated as a traditional first-year applicant and will be eligible for first-year scholarships. All programs are available for transfer students. (Additional application requirements for Education, Nursing and Social Work are linked below.)

Making sure your community/technical college credits transfer is an important step in applying to Saint Martin's. We have direct transfer agreements with 27 community colleges in the state of Washington.

Any applicant who is a member of the Washington All-Academic Team at their community college prior to transferring is eligible for this $2,500 renewable award, including Running Start students. Proof of membership is required.

Bring your questions and unofficial transcripts, and learn more about why Saint Martin's may be the right fit for you. In these custom visits, you will learn about your academic major and the admissions process, take a tour, and receive an advising session to discuss credit transfer and educational opportunities.

Whether you are getting ready to enroll in a community college, nearing completion of an associate degree, or ready to make a change from another university, the Transfer Student Center (TSC) is here to answer your questions and help you plan to transfer to TU. We offer services to students at all stages of their undergraduate careers.

If you are already enrolled and need assistance, the TSC is here to help. We can answer questions you may have about your transfer credits or connect you with the campus resources you need. Not sure where to start? Check out some of the resources available to you as a TU student:

With over 600 students transferring from community colleges and other four-year institutions each year, LMU is the perfect place to continue your education. We offer a network of support services designed to make your transition seamless, your experience memorable, and your investment rewarding personally and professionally.

Because of the unique and specialized curriculum in this programs, we encourage transfer students to set up an on-campus or phone meeting with Tim Seiber, Director of the Johnson Center for Integrative Studies at tim_s...@redlands.edu or at (909) 748-8610 to discuss transfer of credit, length of program, and pre-requisites.

An audition is required for admission for those who want to major or minor in Music. However, it is recommended to set up an on-campus or phone meeting with the program director to discuss transfer of credit, length of program, and pre-requisites. For additional information regarding the Conservatory of Music and requirements, please contact Brad Andrews, Director of Music Admissions, at (909) 748-8014.

Transfer learning (TL) is a technique in machine learning (ML) in which knowledge learned from a task is re-used in order to boost performance on a related task.[1] For example, for image classification, knowledge gained while learning to recognize cars could be applied when trying to recognize trucks. This topic is related to the psychological literature on transfer of learning, although practical ties between the two fields are limited. Reusing/transferring information from previously learned tasks to new tasks has the potential to significantly improve learning efficiency.[2]

In 1976, Bozinovski and Fulgosi published a paper addressing transfer learning in neural network training.[3][4] The paper gives a mathematical and geometrical model of the topic. In 1981, a report considered the application of transfer learning to a dataset of images representing letters of computer terminals, experimentally demonstrating positive and negative transfer learning.[5]

In 1997, Pratt and Thrun guest-edited a special issue of Machine Learning devoted to transfer learning,[7] and by 1998, the field had advanced to include multi-task learning,[8] along with more formal theoretical foundations.[9] Learning to Learn,[10] edited by Thrun and Pratt, is a 1998 review of the subject.

In 2020 it was discovered that, due to their similar physical natures, transfer learning is possible between electromyographic (EMG) signals from the muscles and classifying the behaviors of electroencephalographic (EEG) brainwaves, from the gesture recognition domain to the mental state recognition domain. It was noted that this relationship worked in both directions, showing that electroencephalographic can likewise be used to classify EMG.[26] The experiments noted that the accuracy of neural networks and convolutional neural networks were improved[27] through transfer learning both prior to any learning (compared to standard random weight distribution) and at the end of the learning process (asymptote). That is, results are improved by exposure to another domain. Moreover, the end-user of a pre-trained model can change the structure of fully-connected layers to improve performance.[28]

All applicants with fewer than 60 transferable semesters (or 90 quarter) units of college credit are considered lower-division transfer students. Most CSU campuses do not admit lower-division transfers. Stanislaus State will make an exception and admit lower-division transfers for the Spring 2024 and Fall 2024 terms.

In addition to the upper-division transfer requirements, transfers wanting to declare the Biological Sciences or Kinesiology majors must complete the following prerequisites with a minimum grade of C- or better:

At Saint Louis University, we welcome students who want to transfer colleges and the diversity of intellectual experiences they bring to our campus. And because you may have different questions than traditional first-year students, we offer specialized programs for transfer students and services to help you through the college transfer process.

Wondering if the courses you've already taken will count toward a degree at SLU? Our transfer credit resources can give you a good idea of where things stand before you transfer to SLU.

This partnership with Verto Education enables you to spend your first two semesters studying abroad at one of SLU's international partner schools. You'll earn transferable credits and be on track to complete your four-year degree at SLU the following year so long as you meet the academic requirements.

Apply as a transfer student if you are a high school graduate who has completed at least 12 semester hours or 18 quarter hours after high school graduation at a regionally accredited college or university.

Admission to UMD is competitive and the number of students seeking admission exceeds the number who can be accommodated. Admission is based on the overall strength of the student's academic performance and is assessed through a holistic review. In accordance with the Maryland Higher Education Commission and Board of Regents transfer policies, certain applicants from Maryland public institutions are given special consideration and are admitted when space is available.

Transfer students from two-year and four-year schools are encouraged to take advantage of Pre-Transfer Advising before applying to UMD. Pre-Transfer Advising will help assess your readiness to transfer and estimate your time to degree completion. You can also review 4-Year Plans for information about the major and graduation requirements for specific programs.

The advisors from your Maryland community college can work closely with pre-transfer advisors for issues related to transfer credits and major options. Pre-Transfer advisors help you determine how previous coursework will apply to your UMD degree, identify remaining general education and major requirements, and locate specific resources for additional assistance.

Transfer Credit Services facilitates the evaluation of credit for new students who have earned college credit or prior learning credits (such as AP, IB, A/AS level exams). They provide a course database to help students and advisors estimate what credits will transfer to UMD. A final determination will be made after being admitted to UMD and a review of your official college transcripts.

Students transfer to Cornell for many reasons. Whether your academic interests have changed or you are looking to continue your education after completing a two-year degree, make Cornell the next step on your journey.

While Cornell University will not be accepting external transfer applications for Spring 2024, we encourage you to consider applying for Fall 2024. Please reach out to your college or school of interest with any questions, and we look forward to reviewing your application for fall!
