November will be RI STEAM Month

Hello fantastic RIEEA members,

 

The Rhode Island Department of Education is recognizing RI STEAM Month 2022 during November.   STEAM Education focuses on the integration of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art+design, and Mathematics.  We invite your STEM/STEAM-focused community organization to join us in celebrating all to build awareness and interest in STEAM.  I have attached a printable announcement that you can use to help spread the word. The RI STEAM Center is collaborating on a STEAM Educator Award, the information for this is attached.  Please share these items with your networks!  

 

STEAM Month provides a great opportunity to connect families with local organizations that offer experiential STEAM learning.  We invite your organization to host a family event during November, in recognition of STEAM Month.  Once an event is planned, related information can be shared to us through this form.  We will compile a STEAM Month calendar of events for schools to distribute to families in October.  Please submit the information by October 7^th to ensure that your event is included.

 

During November, we will be visiting schools to see students engaged in STEAM activities.  If your organization would like to donate items to distribute to students and educators (such as coupons for admission to venues, classroom resources, etc.) please contact me to arrange a pickup.  We will recognize your organization as a sponsor in our announcements of STEAM Month.
