Hello RIEEA community,

I am reaching out to invite you to take part in an upcoming spring celebration, the Rhode Island Mycological Society’s 3rd annual Fungi Fair.

Fungi Fair is a FREE public outdoor event centered on all things fungi. There are many ways to engage with fungi through art, cooking, fungal ecology, conservation, and community science. The fair brings together educators, land stewards, researchers, farmers, artists, and the public for a day of guided nature walks, learning, and shared observation. We will celebrate our shared love of fungi and hope to help people better understand the living systems around them, with fungi as a lens into broader ecological relationships.

We are currently welcoming conservation organizations, NGOs, nonprofits, and farmers. (There is always room for more farmers!) We are also inviting educators and naturalists interested in leading workshops or guided nature walks, or performing.

The event will also feature 20+ local vendors, food trucks, live music, and the beautiful historic setting of Borders Farm.

If you are interested in participating, leading a walk, offering a workshop, or setting up a table, I would be glad to connect and share more details.

Thank you for the work you do in environmental education and stewardship. I hope you will consider joining us.

Best,
D. Tempest Thomas
