At Tuesday’s EC4 meeting the following grant opportunity was announced. Please help us spread the word and share with your friends, colleagues and networks! We encourage those interested in hearing more to join the November 17th information session (details below).
Climate Change Community Engagement Grants
RIDEM is offering grants up to $40,000 each for community groups to engage directly with the EC4, state agencies, and consultants working to prepare Rhode Island's 2025 Climate Action Strategy. The strategy will include multiple pathways and projects that will lead Rhode Island to a carbon-neutral future. To help us better develop and implement these programs and policies so that they reflect the goals and needs of the community, we are asking community groups to provide outreach, engagement, and facilitation support. This funding will enable groups to provide stipends and other support services to community members who take part in meetings, workgroups, and other engagement opportunities. Projects will run from approximately March, 2024 to June 30, 2025.
An optional information session will be held on November 17th at noon for folks to ask questions about the 2025 Climate Action Strategy, the grants, and the application process. Applications must be uploaded to the state's new grants management website. The deadline to apply is December 15, 2023.
