Well, the final week of the Legislative Session is coming to a close, and bills are flying between the House and Senate!

All of the 43 bills we're tracking, as well as updates and links to my testimony, can be found on our 2026 Bill Tracker, but here are a couple of highlights:

🗑️ S-2438A / H-7342A School Waste Recycling and Refuse Disposal - a bill that many of you took action on! - has passed in both chambers and should be headed towards the Governor's desk. If you have a minute, please ask the Governor to sign it using these easy-to-follow instructions.

🐞 S-2452 Building Opportunities in Out-of-School Time is scheduled for consideration tonight, but the House companion bill (H-7501) is not. This bill - introduced at least 3 times - would provide $100,000 to support the out-of-school time programming, but looks to stall this year.

☠️ S-2870 / H-8173 Lead Poisoning Prevention Act was signed into law yesterday, June 10. (RIEEA was "watching" this bill.)

Please let me know if you have any questions or want additional information; I'm happy to help!

Happy (almost) Friday!
Jeanine
