Hello RIEEA Community! We're a couple of weeks into the 2026 legislative session already - where did that time go??

As in years past, I'm keeping a 2026 Bill Tracker with all of the bills that RIEEA is watching, supporting, or opposing. We are currently tracking 7 bills. Check them out! I will post major developments and action alerts to this Google Group as the session continues.

PS - If you are a member of RIEEA and want to join our Advocacy committee, please let me know! We're meeting sometime later this month so I'll add you to the Doodle poll to determine the day/time.

PPS - Mark your calendars for the evening of February 10. We'll be having a Lobbying 101 Zoom workshop at 6pm to help you understand why it's so important to advocate for EE and what you're legally allowed to engage if you are a staff member of a nonprofit organization.

The Bill tracker is a very handy and helpful tool. Hoping RIEEA and members can keep pressing for the Bottle Bill…

Yes, Mark! RIEEA plans to support the "bottle bill" (aka recycling reimbursement) again as we have in years past - I just don't think it's been introduced yet. Some of the revenue that will be created from that program would support outreach and education around recycling - so we're all for it!
