Good afternoon,
DEM Division of Forest Environment, in cooperation with the United States Forest Service, is pleased to announce the 2021 Urban and Community Forestry Grant Program (formerly known as the America the Beautiful Grant). This cost share grant program provides grants in the amount of $2,000-$4,000 with the primary purpose of assisting communities in developing sustainable forestry programs.
As part of the 2020 Rhode Island Forest Action Plan, the following goals were established as the focus of the RI Urban and Community Forestry Program. Grant projects should be developed to address at least one of these goals.
The complete RFP, application, forms, and project suggestions are available on the UCF website at http://www.dem.ri.gov/programs/forestry/urban-forestry/grants-apply.php#grantforms. We will be having an online grant writing workshop on Wednesday, January 27 at 10:00 a.m., which will also be recorded and made available to view online. We encourage EVERYONE considering an application to attend or view our grant writing workshop - whether you are new to the process or not. Please join us to learn more and RSVP to me by email if you would like to attend.
Thank you,
Robert (Lou) Allard
