Forests in a Changing Climate: Impacts on Trees and Ecosystems with Dr. Ali Kosiba

Saturday, December 6, 2025 | 1:00 pm – 3:30 pm

URI Pharmacy Building, Avedesian Hall, Room 170

7 Greenhouse RoadKingston, RI

How are climate-driven shifts already underway, from warmer winters to more frequent extreme weather, affecting tree physiology, health, and survival?

What do these tree-level impacts mean in terms of broader forest ecosystem responses, including carbon storage, wildlife habitat, and long-term forest resilience?

Dr. Kosiba, forest ecophysiologist and Assistant Professor at the University of Vermont, leads their Extension Forestry Program and serves as the State Extension Forester.

Free and open to the public

Schedule – doors open at 1:00 pm, program at 1:30 pm followed by discussion and refreshments until 3:30

This program is underwritten by the Lisa Lofland Gould Native Plant Program Fund
