Hi RIEEA Community!
So sorry for the delay, but we'd like to invite you to join us for Portfolio Pitch Night on Tuesday, June 16, 5-7pm (Tomorrow! Register Now!).
This event is organized through The Open Newsroom, a 12-week, paid fellowship supporting STEM undergraduates as they explore a scientific topic/issue of interest and report on its relevance/impact among Rhode Island communities.
Portfolio Pitch Night is a chance for you to listen to Open Newsroom fellows' ideas and plans for reporting on a scientific topic and community of interest. You will be able to offer feedback on how fellows may best develop their news portfolio, as well as discuss how journalists and news impact public perceptions of science and research. This event is free and virtual. Meet our 2026 Fellows!
The Open Newsroom is organized by RI-NEST, a program funded through the U.S. National Science Foundation, and the Metcalf Institute, both based at the University of Rhode Island.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out to fellowship organizers Shaun Kirby (ski...@uri.edu) or Mel Thibeault (mel.th...@uri.edu). Thank you for your time!
