Legislative Update - February 5, 2026

Hello RIEEA Community! Bills have been dropping left and right in the General Assembly, and I thought it might be a good practice to update you every 2 weeks or so about RIEEA's advocacy work.

Check out the bills that RIEEA is watching, supporting, or opposing on our 2026 Bill Tracker. We are currently tracking 20 bills. There is a hearing tonight on H-7351, Foot Paths for Public Access (McNamara). RIEEA is in support of this bill and submitted written testimony (which you can find in the bill tracker).

And just a reminder that we are hosting a Lobbying 101 Zoom workshop at 6pm next Tuesday, February 10. This is designed to help you understand why it's so important to advocate for EE and how to arrange and conduct a meeting with a legislator. We're thrilled that our presenter is RIEEA Board Member Robyn Linde, Professor of Political Science and Director of the International Nongovernmental and Nonprofit Organizations Studies program at Rhode Island College.
