Position Title: Project Coordinator  

Department: College of Education/EC4 Climate Literacy Program

Position Type: Part-Time (Max 15hs/wk) IP-1
Hourly Rate: $33
Application Deadline: 11/26/25


Position Overview:

The Project Coordinator will provide organizational, logistical, and communications support for a collaborative initiative between the University of Rhode Island (URI), the Rhode Island Environmental Education Association (RIEEA), and participating environmental education (EE) organizations.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate outreach, recruitment, and placement of URI students with partner EE organizations.

  • Develop, design, and maintain the program website, ensuring content accuracy, accessibility, and timely updates.

  • Develop and manage a digital repository of instructional resources, reports, and shared materials.

  • Serve as a primary liaison among URI, RIEEA, and partner organizations to support coordination and effective communication.

  • Maintain records and assist with evaluation, reporting, and dissemination of program outcomes.

  • Contribute to outreach materials, newsletters, and social media or web communications highlighting program activities and impacts.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, environmental studies, communications, project management, or a related field.

  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and other digital collaboration tools.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse internal and external stakeholders.


Work Schedule:

  • 8-15 hours per week (hybrid)

  • Some evening or weekend hours may be required for events or partner coordination.


Position Status:

  • Grant-funded; temporary appointment (up to 12 months)
