Hello fellow EE enthusiasts! For 33 years, I was program director for Zero Waste and EE initiatives in over 80 Colorado schools. Before retiring, I created the Zero Waste Schools Activity Guide, offered here as a FREE, downloadable resource to any teacher, administrator, or educator. Please check out the Guide below and share it with others that might benefit. (Six sample chapters are also attached.) Thank you for all the good work that you do. The planet needs our help, now more than ever!

Eco-Cycle’s Zero Waste Schools Activity Guide

Download the FREE Zero Waste Schools Activity Guide. The 35 award-winning activities, developed and implemented in over 80 Colorado schools over 33-years, include projects that are applicable to preschool through high school settings. The Guide is arranged in four sections: Waste-Reduction, Recycling, Composting, and Student Motivators and Rewards. Projects are included that can be implemented in one classroom or grade level, for an entire school, or district-wide. Download or print the entire Guide or individual activities. Combining several projects or implementing multiple projects over time will bring your school or district closer and closer to Zero Waste in creative, low-cost ways.

The Zero Waste Schools Activity Guide is excellent, so fun for students and so helpful to our school’s recycling and waste-reduction goals.” 6th-grade teacher

“This Guide is packed with creative, actionable ideas for every stage of your classroom, school, or district’s Zero Waste journey. Every school and every age student can truly make a difference!” Katie Navin, Executive Director, Colorado Alliance for Environmental Education.
