Defending colleges and universities against governmental oppression

I've been corresponding recently with Harvard alumna Helen Fairman - who is among the coordinators of Crimson Courage - about various topics related to governmental attacks on academic autonomy and financial viability. She advised me about a new, nation-wide initiative, the Emergency Campaign to Protect Higher Education, which is intended to have all categories of affiliates involved, and she says that a number of unions also are participants.
