Last night, our son was using our car and got a citation from Chattanooga city police because he did not have a Chattanooga City Sticker on our car. The city website says: “Vehicles, private and commercial -- except for motorcycles -- which are registered to an address within the corporate limits of Chattanooga must display a $5.00 City Sticker, or be subject to a police citation or court fine.” He explained this to the officer, who gave him a citation anyway. Today I called the City Court to see what information I needed to bring when we contest the ticket ($84 fine possible, plus court costs) … and they said it looked to them that our address was right in the middle of Chattanooga. I explained our city charter, etc., etc. They suggested I call the City Court Clerk tomorrow.
I am wondering if anyone else has had that problem or if you have ideas how to document that Ridgeside isn’t in the city…
Thanks!

The City Court judges know that Ridgeside is not in the city of Chattanooga and, therefore, are not subject to the requirement for City stickers.
