From Monterey:

 

If you come over on hwy 68 take Reservation/River Road exit.  Turn right onto River Road.  Go three miles out from hwy 68 to Las Palmas Parkway (second stoplight).  Right on Las Palmas Parkway to stop sign.  Left on Tara Dr.  I live at 18603 Tara.  Its the white house with blue trim.  The number is on the curb and since the lawn is new it is very green.

 

If you come on Reservation Road, it turns into River Road as you pass under hwy 68 so just follow the rest of the directions above.

 

From the North:

 

Exit hwy 101 at Laurel Dr.  Right on Laurel.  Left at first stoplight onto Davis or North Davis.  Stay on Davis Rd. till it ends at Reservation Rd.  Left on Reservation Road until it turns into River Road then follow directions above.

 

If you get lost call 831-455-1269 and we'll see if the chaplain will say a prayer for you.  I'm going to be busy cooking so I won't be available.  We will just have to figure something else out.

P.S.  I will start the cooking today by getting some salmon belly strips ready to smoke (hot smoke).  Portuguese don't do lox and Bagels.  Instead of coconut shrimp I will give Ken a break this year and we will have something else that involves shrimp and still something else that involves coconut.  I have a little chicken, ribs, and tri tips (to be marinated Joe's meat style) potato salad, and some other things yet to be decided so I hope you don't go hungry.  I am not doing desert so that is up to you guys.

 

So far I have 15 people on the list.  If you didn't RSVP don't worry about it,  I'm sure there will be enough food for several more people.  If you haven't ridden with us for a while we will be happy to see your smiling face again.

I am still planning on being there. Saturday the 23rd, right? Noonish?

 

Next month is the Dirk Memorial ride and bbq and always know that you guys are invited. I know it is a long way to come, but you could skip the ride and just come to the bbq. It is one of my favorite rides, however and we could tell you the southern-most point to join in. Just a thought . . .

 

I will do my most to come up with a totally yummy dessert dish.

I'm shooting for eating at about 12.30.  Depends on how long you want to shoot the bull before we eat.  I will not be talking.  I will be cooking.    What you ought to do is ask the other people to agree on a time to leave Starbucks or wherever you are going to start.  It's no more than 20 minutes from Starbucks.  If you guys leave Starbucks at 10am I would suggest you take a ride down to Gonzales or Soledad and back to Tara drive.  I'll let the group decide what time you want to leave. I will have some appetizers to pick on  so you need to allow some time to work on those.  Any time after 11 am would be fine.  I have to warn you, I am only infrequently exactly on time and the sous chef quit yesterday so I'm doing her work today.  She has been here for 43 years so no surprise.  She doesn't pull weeds either but she does a lot of other things good so she's a keeper.  I don't interfere with her hobbies and she thinks I'm crazy but goes along with mine.

 

Ride carefully.  See you in the morning.

Since my conscience will not allow me to place the baby on the floor board of the Vespa (...that's reserved for two bales of hay and a pig...) we will be riding inside the Japanese four wheeler, called a car.

I have the engine down for a fresh overhaul inside my garage tent. I freed up some space with a Speedway Shelter for the coffee cart so I get my garage back to tinker in.
