Ride of Silence Supporters,
Welcome to the Ride of Silence - Harbor Springs Group. I wanted to
start by thanking you for taking the time to support the Ride of
Silence and its efforts to honor cyclists that have been killed or
injured while riding on public roadways and to encourage motorists and
cyclists alike to share the road. The Ride of Silence takes place
world wide every 3rd Wednesday in May at 7:00pm; this year's ride
occurs on May 19th.
With the ride only a month away, I wanted to remind everyone that the
Harbor Springs ride will meet downtown H.S. at the Harbormaster
parking lot at 6:30pm. Riders of all ages and experience are
encouraged to join us for the slow, silent ride. There is no cost for
the ride and the only requirement is that you must wear a helmet. The
ride will be approximately 8 miles long and we will ride as a group no
faster than 12mph.
I will continue to update you on all of the details as we near the
ride. In the meantime, get out and enjoy the early spring that has
graced us this year and enjoy a few rides during the next several
weeks. Make sure your bike is in good working order and that you are
able to comfortably ride for about 45 minutes to 1 hour. I also want
to encourage you to pass this along to anyone & everyone you know that
rides a bike or would like to support the Ride of silence. You are
welcome to invite others to join as well. Also, take a moment to view
this group and its pages, there is a description of this year's route
and pictures of past rides. If you have any questions, please feel
free to ask.
Thank you,
Christopher Benson
