No pink slips, just a reminder that the Ride of Silence is just two
weeks away. I know that you have been out enjoying the wonderful
early spring weather & I hope it has been on two wheels as much as
possible. If you haven't, now is the time to get out and make sure
your bike is in working order and that you are accustomed to riding on
that narrow bike seat so that your ride on May 19th is not a painful
one.
As for the ride to come, you may have noticed that there is a bit of
road construction downtown Harbor Springs that may effect the ride's
planned route, not to worry; first, we are hopeful that the work will
be completed ahead of schedule and second, we have a contingency route
planned in the event that construction goes as planned. This will not
hinder the ride whatsoever though it may extend it just a bit as we
will have to follow a couple of detours. We'll see how the work
progresses and make our route changes accordingly.
In the meantime, get out & enjoy riding your bike, practice cycling
safety and wear your helmet. We'll see you on May 19th, downtown
Harbor Springs at the Harbormaster parking lot (250 E. Bay St.) at
6:30 pm - the ride begins worldwide promptly at 7:00 pm. Be sure to
invite anyone else to join this Google group or to join our physical
group in two weeks...all you need is a bike and a helmet and a
willingness to share the road.
Thank you,
Chris
